"We wanted him to look like an everyday professional man who has a family, so we tried really hard to make the clothes feel real and lived-in, not overtly tailored." — Defending Jacob’s costume designer Johanna Argan on making sure Chris Evans didn’t look like Captain America.

SHE HAD ALREADY BEEN A little late for her appointment with Elijah - only a few minutes - and yet, she had to make him wait a little longer. Dressed in only a white bathrobe, she had made a quick detour to the bathroom before getting on Elijah’s table. Had she known beforehand that she was going to run into Elijah’s better half though, she might’ve made sure she looked a little more impressive, seeing as the robe was a couple of sizes too big on her and nearly swallowed her.
“Oh,” she halted in her steps when a door off the side suddenly opened and she stood face to face with an unknown man. Well, not REALLY unknown, she’d already heard MANY stories about this particular stranger. “You must be Cameron,” she smiled, an eyebrow arched as she looked him over. “Dear Lord, you are AT LEAST twice as handsome as Eli claimed you’d be. Good on him! And you too, I guess, Eli is QUITE nice to look at as well.”
Elijah had told her MANY stories about the mysterious Cameron and she’d been DYING to meet him. Though maybe, in her mind, she had probably been wearing MORE clothes when she did.
“Elijah!” She called out towards the room she’d seen her masseuse last. “I can’t BELIEVE you kept this handsome man from me. You dare!”
HE'S USED TO THE SYSTEM BY NOW. when evening rolls around, cameron consciously makes an effort to keep out of the way so elijah can have the lounge for clients for a couple of hours. it's easily done, with cameron's house being large enough to offer alternate places to relax; at least in comparison to elijah's little loft.
but tonight he'd returned home late, arriving home very closely to eli's first appointment. there was just enough time to wash up and change into more comfortable attire; namely a navy blue t-shirt and black sweatpants. then, the plan was to RETREAT to his study and read for a while until the coast was clear, then make dinner.
it turns out he'd taken too long in changing however, as he opens the door to be met with a robed redhead passing by, the pair startling each other in the process. although his heart jumped upon seeing a SUDDEN FIGURE he wasn't expecting, he manages not to show it, and instead offers a polite smile and a nod, wanting to make a good impression, for himself as well as for eli.
"that's me," the scientist confirms in a friendly tone. he isn't expecting the compliments that follow, however, and he feels heat rising to his cheeks as a result, accompanying a beaming smile he fails to conceal. it's not a frequent occurrence that he speaks to women outside of a professional capacity, so this is unfamiliar territory.
she does happen to be beautiful herself, thus flustering cameron all the more.
"…well, thank you, ma'am." a return compliment sits on the tip of his tongue, along with a guess that she must be ros, elijah's apparent favorite client, but then she calls out to the masseuse himself, sparing cameron the awkward stumbling over words.
it prompts elijah to follow the source and find the pair in the hall, a laugh tumbling from his lips.
"yeah, well; i didn't think he was ready for you yet. he'll probably never be. i'm barely there myself," he jokes, moving to stand beside cameron, reminded that he would use the guy's shoulder as an arm rest if he weren't almost a GODDAMN FOOT taller than him. they were almost the same height in childhood, but puberty clearly had a favorite.
"this is ros," he introduces to cameron, who then extends a hand of introduction with his next smile.
"it's nice to meet you. i've heard a lot about you."
I’m convinced that I want these lights in the next bathroom I design.
