Soon enough we all die...so don't spend any more minutes of your life living someone else's dream of what they want you to become.
Never grow up... discover you passion instead. Growing up means getting boring
Stumbled across this today. Absolutely love it :)
If your mind is empty, it is always ready for anything, it is open to everything. In the beginner’s mind there are many possibilities, but in the expert’s mind there are few.

How i told my mum i was leaving medical school to startup
I sent this email to my mum on the 27th of september 2013, I had just arrived in the UK after spending the summer in Nigeria. I had been contemplaiting dropping out for medical school for over 365 days
HOW WILL I MEASURE MY LIFE?
I love you. Those three words are so powerful and yet so many people use those words without actually understanding what it means. Is love just an emotion? Is it the way we feel about someone or is it deeper? I have only said those words to one person and that person is you.
So when I say I love you what does it actually mean to me, It means i care deeply about you, I want you to be proud of me, I want you to smile when you think about me, I want you to be happy and be in good health, I am sad when you are sad, happy when you are happy, dislike those you dislike, love those you love and would do anything for you. If someone asked me to donate my heart so you could stay alive, I would do it without thinking about it…why? Because I love you…[Redacted]. I love you because I can’t imagine not loving you and .
“There is nothing more powerful than a passionate, self-directed, intrinsically motivated human being”
The last 365 days have been a roller coaster ride and one of the most emotional and insightful months of my 22 years of existence. However today is the first day of the rest of my life and I have learnt a lot about myself, importance of family, focus and excellence. In February you asked me one question…what do i want to do? I couldn't answer the question because i hadn't giving it a lot of thought; so I set myself on a mission to answer this question…What do i desire? How do i want to spend the rest of my life if money was no object? Over the summer rather than watch TV, go out or play games, I spent almost two months reading about things I love and wanted to find out more about, from people that inspire me like Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Larry Page, Sergey Brin, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Richard Branson, Drew Houston, Tony Heish, Gary Vaynerchuk and Blake Mycoskieto business books about leadership, management, finance and accounting and also thought myself how to create and design web interfaces with HTML and CSS. I rediscovered my passion for learning new things. I spent hours watching thought leaders and lecturers from free online lectures posted by MIT, Stanford and Harvard Business School for free on YouTube. I promised myself that when I get back to London I’ll continue learning and exploring these paths during the year.

So let’s start with why; why do we go to university? To get a degree. Why do we get a degree? To get a job. Why do we get a job? To earn money. Why do we earn money? To be able to raise a family. Why do we raise a family? Because it’s what society expects us to do and our goal becomes to send our children to university….and the cycle continues. Most people want to be successful and define success by wealth and material gains but you hear of people who have attained riches and still live unfulfilled lives or you hear of people like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet etc. pledging to donate majority of their riches to the poor and needy when they pass away. Money isn't what a man should benchmark success on; success isn't superficial and it’s a continuous process…for someone to be fulfilled in life they must have a deeper appreciation of what kind of impact they want to have on the world. We say “we touch the world” at Christ Ambassadors; and that rings through with my values and my philosophy on life. We are remembered for our actions, and the impact we had on people’s lives.
My mission in life is to “Connect people. Inspire change. Create happiness”. Wealth is over-rated and Happiness is underrated. I have explained my why but here’s is my what? I want to launch a social enterprise that combines technology, with media and positive change. Since I came back to the UK I was opportuned to take part in a hackathon run by BBC and Comic relief to help come up with ideas for an app they could use to engage youths all over the country and raise even more money for the cause; this is what I enjoy and love. Comic relief’s mission is to create positive change through the power of entertainment and even though I was surrounded by developers, designers, marketing experts, social media consultants, project managers, head of comic relief etc I wasn't out of place and was commended for my insight and presentation skills and I will most likely be involved in the nation-wide campaign when it starts next year.
What do I plan to achieve in the next 365 days?
-To develop competency in computer programming up to intermediary level at HTML, CSS, Ruby, Javascript, JQuery, Objective-C
-To gain Professional Development in the areas of Leadership and Strategy, People Management, Communications and Marketing and General Management Skills
-To understand and gain skills related to business finance and operations including Accounting, Economics, Business Law and Organisation Behavior
-Take a deep dive into philosophy; which will teach me to think independently and critically, how to effectively communicate in speech and writing, develop strong analytically problem solving skills and develop a deeper understanding of everything around me
It might seem like a lot of things to try to do in one year; but life doesn’t give you what you desire but what you demand. If you want something you have to go get it. What I will learn from this year are highly transferable, sought-after skills and a mind-set that can be applied to any situation I will find myself in later in life and that in its self is very valuable. [Redacted]
At the end of the year as a result of insane determination and grit to do the impossible, I want to launch a mobile app for iOS and andriod that connects people to what matters most to them, i will also launch the first of two positive change campaigns titled LOVE LIFE: STRANGERS where we sell two t-shirts for the price of one (one white for the buyer/one red for the stranger) and encourage people to help someone in need that they don’t know in the simplest way possible, we’ll be partnering with charities around the UK who might need our support and the other is LOVE LIFE: WATER where we encourage people to save 4% of what they spent on Christmas presents over 12 months so as to provide water for every human being. In America $450 billion is spent every year on Christmas presents and about£89 billion is spent in the UK. It takes $20 billion/yr to provide water for all 7 billion people in the world.
Eric Land said innovation comes from people who stand at the intersections of humanities and science. Steve Jobs said those who are crazy enough to believe they can change the world are the ones who usually do. One day you’ll overhear people talking about “Yele Bademosi” and you’ll smile to yourself thinking “That is my son and am proud of him”. I talked about love in the beginning, [Redacted]…I just want you to be proud of me. I want you by my side as I move to touch the world. I have no doubt that I will do this but I need you to be someone I can run to, talk to and pour my heart out to when things are tough and I want to be that to you too. I’ll never replace dad but I want you to know I am mature enough to shoulder some responsibility off you.
Every time I sign off a text message saying “I love you. Yele” ; I hope it reminds you that even though dad is no longer by your side, I am here every moment, every day whispering these words in your ears
I LOVE YOU
Yele
I published this on my birthday as a gift to the world and next generation of entrepreneurs. I hope people will begin to see business as a vehicle to promote positivity and push humanity forward rather than just to make profit.

Peak Experiences
Peak experiences are described by Maslow as especially joyous and exciting moments in life, involving sudden feelings of intense happiness and well-being, wonder and awe, and possibly also involving an awareness of transcendental unity or knowledge of higher truth (as though perceiving the world from an altered, and often vastly profound and awe-inspiring perspective).
They usually come on suddenly and are often inspired by deep meditation, intense feelings of love, exposure to great art or music, or the overwhelming beauty of nature.
Maslow describes how the peak experience tends to be uplifting and ego-transcending; it releases creative energies; it affirms the meaning and value of existence; it gives a sense of purpose to the individual; it gives a feeling of integration; it leaves a permanent mark on the individual, evidently changing them for the better.
Peak experiences can be therapeutic in that they tend to increase the individual’s free will, self-determination, creativity, and empathy. The highest peaks include “feelings of limitless horizons opening up to the vision, the feeling of being simultaneously more powerful and also more helpless than one ever was before, the feeling of great ecstasy and wonder and awe, and the loss of placing in time and space” (1970, p. 164).
When peak experiences are especially powerful, the sense of self dissolves into an awareness of a greater unity.

Embrace Constraint
Constraint breeds creativity; it's drives innovation and causes focus. Smaller teams, less time, less money = Do more faster with less.
I was going to say work on what you love, but that's not really it. It's so easy to convince yourself that you love what you're doing -- who wants to admit that they don't? When I think about it, the happiest and most successful people I know don't just love what they do, they're obsessed with solving an important problem, something that matters to them
