Brant had pulled out a piece of paper we had scribbled on, reminding us of the exact songs on the tape. With zero concern to Endrewās driving, he had reached over to throw it onto Edithās lap. Written at the top was the wonderful, well-thought out title of the mix-tape, and under that was the list.

It had been such a simple drive, with us only stopping once to grab some watery coffee and snacks. The sun had been shining all day, and with the music blaring from Endrewās crackling speakers, and Edith singing along from the front seat, and Brant serenading me with Totoā¦.it had been, I remember, one of the happiest times I could ever remember having. The kind that makes you feel like you are in an entirely unrealistic movie. The kind that makes you think there is no one else in the world but you and your friends. Perhaps, for that time, there had not been. Not to us. We were free from parents, from Starfall, and from anyone who knew us.
