I just discovered ESSA (Emotional Support Stuffed Animal) and I LOVE it!

I always loved to carry plushies around and I realized I could carry one that represents my theriotype I'm fonna bee invincible

I encountered a therian in the wild:

here's how it went:

i was outside of a shop waiting for them to open up, and waiting out there was also a mum and her kid whom was wearing an animal mask and tons of yarn tails.

i was hesitant to approach, but i did anyway. i needed for that kid to know that there are more of us out there, that he's not alone, that some of us are adults and growing into your theriantropy or alterhumanity is possible and is beautiful.

i first said to him i like his mask, he said thank you and i asked if he had made the mask himself, he said yes and instantly i said i really liked it, and added that i make masks myself.

he asked if we (my bf and i) were therians and we said yes! he's face lit up. it was beautiful. his mum asked if we knew more therians out there, we said yes but we only know adults as we are adults ourselves. we know a lot of therians exist around our area (though not in our city due to it being small) but most of them gather in a bigger city close to ours. they said they couldn't travel to meet other kids, that he didn't have much friends, that he was bullied due to his theriantropy and being trans. which made me sad:(

however, i truly hope we got to show him that he's not alone, that there are beings out there like him, that he will find his place someday.

he wanted to join our pack, but we quickly but carefully told him it wouldn't be a good idea as all of us are adults. we will not associate with kids.

anyways, i hope we did some good and i truly hope he gets to find more beings like him soon💕🦴

I still think it’s very sweet that two of my dear students identify as therians, shared their several theriotypes with me, and have showed me their quadrobics and vocals before. To keep in mind, my students are 11.

Meanwhile, I’m 23. I don’t do quadrobics, but I do enjoy yoga. I don’t have a mask or any “gear,” really. I’m pretty much just a cat, questioning feline cladotherian. Yet I also identify as a therian, particularly favoring the alterhuman label.

Big or small, young or old, I like the fact that so many of us get to experience this together. Being an alterhuman comes with its joys and hardships, but having a community really does make it all better.
