You may call me the SpawnofEris, EldritchoftheInfinite, ShroomPawz, or any nickname following along those lines.
[Plain text: SpawnofEris, EldritchoftheInfinite, ShroomPawz]
This is my sideblog to post about my therianthropy and about miscverse stuff. =3
I don't really talk about either in general--since it's fairly personal, so I thought that it'd be cool if I made a sideblog dedicated to them.
My main blog is @spawnoferis
About me/Basic info below the cut!!
About Me!!:
[Plain text: About Me!!]
-I'm a minor!! (Age Range: 13-17) So, no nsfw of any kind please. The occasional suggestive joke or wtv is fine though.
-I'm black and Afro-Caribbean (I'm technically mixed, but Idrk what else ^^')
-I have (highly suspected) AuDHD (Autism + ADHD)
-I am AroAce spec, Sapphic, and genderqueer; I use she/they/he pronouns and prefer a mix of masc, femme, and gender neutral terms
-Human viv terms are fine, but feline (and draconic) vivterms are appreciated
-I am a tone tag user!! I'll try to use tone tags where necessarily and often and would appreciate if others used them for me, please.
-I associate myself with miscefolk/misceanimalis, essentita, and mystiori(yes, all apply to me)!! I believe myself to be an Alpha and my scent is petrichor.
-My therianthropy and miscverse/misceanimalis intercept/converge sometimes (espeically with things like scents, nesting/den related things, etc).
-My DMs are open!! (Especially to any mutuals.) However, I'd prefer if ppl who messaged me were no younger than 12 and no older than 22.
-This blog is meant to be casual and chill, so I'd appreciate if it was kept discourse free <- I don't think that I've entirely held true to this, sorry ^^ However, no huge discourse or drama has ever been brought up here.
My Alterhumanity
-I believe that my alterhumanity is soley psychological; I do experience a few phantom and physical shifts tho
-My only theriotype is Canada Lynx
-Dragon hearted
-Fiction Hearted (but I don't post abt it + it's with a LOT of characters)

A tip for animals that want to mimic scenting behaviors and scent glands: spray a liberal amount of perfume/cologne/fragrance mist around the areas where your glands would be (or where non-functional glands are), then practice scenting against things like wall corners, doorways, the legs of beds/desks, plushies, even other people if they consent, by rubbing those areas against said object or person. You should do this about 30 seconds to 2 or 3 minutes after applying the spray.
In some cases you can find concentrated pheromone oils/sprays for game animals. These are meant for hunters but nothing is stopping you from using it as a casual outing scent, other than some people being irritated by the smell. I wouldn't recommend putting them directly on the skin, I've gotten some on my hand and had mild irritation afterwards, but you can do roughly the same act by spraying it on clothing and rubbing the clothing against objects.
I also would recommend sticking to cheaper sprays for this since you'll have to spray *more than average* for anything to transfer, unless you're doing it seconds after applying which could feel unnatural. Theres also always the alternative of just spraying it directly on the object which takes less sprays for any scent to stay, I think thats what most people already do, but again it'll feel less natural doing it that way.
As always you can research where your species' scent glands are and their scenting rituals if you're unsure, or you can stick to the most efficient glands spots and rituals. I do a mix of both depending on what I'm scenting and where I am.
It’s too bad miscefolk isn’t super well known, i mean i appreciate it because that means less people on the internet harassing the community but i think it would be really fun to have miscefolk pride events. Like people could go with their pack and if they have mates they could come with claiming objects and everyone could wear their scent and I think it would just be fun but also would have to be really low profile because again, don’t want to get like attacked, I mean if therians are at risk can you imagine what that type of person who would harass tweens who are just public gearing would do to us?😅 like I don’t believe in hiding your true self but sometimes, under certain circumstances, being unknown is safer. Especially when you could be exposed to literally any kind of person.
"there are 2 wolves inside you" actually just statistical error. average person has 0 wolves inside them. your local plural therian blog, that has very very many nonhuman alters, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
Affirmations for the unsure alterhumans and maybehumans:
You can still be alterhuman even if you acknowledge parts or all of your humanity.
You can still be alterhuman even if you find comfort in human rituals, culture, etc.
You can still be alterhuman even if you display human behaviors and characteristics.
You can still be alterhuman if you look or act nothing like your 'type.
You can still be alterhuman without dysphoria, euphoria, or both.
You can still be alterhuman even if you never plan to transition or present physically or socially as alterhuman.
You can still be alterhuman without blowing hundreds of thousands of dollars on gear.
You can still be alterhuman even if you aren't queer (surprisingly common misconception by the way!)
You can still be alterhuman even if you don't find the furry community appealing.
You can still be alterhuman even if there weren't 'signs' of alterhumanity in your childhood.
You can still be alterhuman even if you find aspects of alter/nonhumanity uncomfortable or scary (and this may change as you discover yourself!)
You can still be 100% alterhuman and 100% human at the same time.
You can still be alterhuman without misanthropy.
You can still be alterhuman without a spiritual connection to nature or a religion pertaining to nature.
Even if you aren't alterhuman, it's okay to be human.
Even if you aren't alterhuman forever, it's okay to recognize your humanity afterwards.
No seriously, it's okay to be human in some aspects or all aspects.
You don't have to constantly strive to be the 'most nonhuman thing possible' and you don't have to try and reinvent the wheel coming up with a new term thats 'more nonhuman' or 'further than humanity' than the last.
There are infinite ways to be alterhuman and you may never find a term to define yourself. You might not even find a species to label yourself as.
On the same coin you may find that your experience is painfully common, or not 'original' enough to warrant a 'true' experience. You have to remember that it's okay to be one of the gazillion black wolf psychological therians out there and that it is functionally the same (and has the same moral weight) as having brown eyes.
It's okay to be unlabeled.
It's okay if you wouldn't be considered alterhuman by the old standards from the days when alterhumanity was mostly on independent forum boards.
Grills and grilling aren't relevant anymore and it's better to block people that try to bring that back.
But it is never okay to lie to yourself to fit into a box that's too small for you.
I have a species affirming meal idea in my mind but urghhh
I probably won't get to try it any time soon
Basically the idea is just eating some (uncooked) tuna, mixed with mayo of course, and some (uncooked) corned beef. Both foods remind me of cat food and also of raw meats/pray.
I unfortunately have come to the conclusion that no one will truly understand me in the way I want them to.
In the way I crave another wolf’s teeth on my nape, the intertwining of tails, brushing wingtips against one another’s, a gentle chuff as we bathe in the sunlight, paws outstretched, in the chase of a pack, butting shoulders together as we run.
I love the people in my life so dearly. But they will never understand me in the way I want them to. And honestly?
That aches. It tugs on my heart and my soul.
I’m not meant to be here in this way, and it shows.
i love you altarhumans, non humans, therians, other hearted, fictherians, theriomythics, other kin, and literally everyone and anyone who identifies with something other than how they were born. You are valid. You matter. You are doing it right. Please keep going and don’t let anyone tell you that you are not worthy, valid, or genuine, you need not their validation.
A radiocollar is a device placed around the animal’s neck, like a real collar, and it’s mostly used on wildlife.
Thanks to this device, the movements, migration routes, and habitat use of animals are monitored using the global positioning system.
The spatial and temporal resolutions provided by the GPS tracking method allow the identification of critical habitats, migration routes, and breeding grounds, which are essential for the survival of species.
The method has been found to be very useful in the conservation of endangered species, as it provides the opportunity for continuous tracking without invading the habitat of the species.
(from Wikipedia - GPS animal tracking)
WHY DO I FEEL CONNECTED TO IT❓
Everytime I come across a picture of a wild canine or feline wearing one of these collars I immediately think “yup, that’s me”.
As a domestic dog, I’ve always felt very connected to dog collars, and this connection doesn’t end when I’m feeling more wild.
I’m a wild animal, but my life is constantly “monitored” by humans: I have to depend on them when it comes to friendships, relationships, food, house, school/work, public transport,… all of these things can’t miss in my life and, in order to have them, I have to be with humans and to depend on them.
Humans also take care of my wellbeing, like doctors and psychologists. And the humans I live with actually track me on a geo locator app to make sure they know where I am in case something happens and they need to reach me.
On this aspect, it’s something kinda “philosophical”: this connection reflects how I feel in my life with humans. Wild animals normally shouldn’t wear collars, but these devices are necessary for their individual and specie wellbeing, and so humans are in my life.
But there’s another aspect: the more animalistic one.
The tought of being an animal with a radiocollar makes me really euphoric bc it’s like being a registered wolf, an “official” wolf, if that makes sense (and a lioness aswell).
I would love to have a real radiocollar as gear, but it would be really expensive and I don’t know if you can just randomly buy one.
So, a few months ago I’ve decided to give myself an ID number like the ones radiocollared wolves are identified as (based on their birth date, etc.).
My ID number is 1309F.
HOW DID I CHOOSE THIS ID❓
13 -> it would be 2013, when I started to experience my first animalistic experiences.
09 -> I’ve born in 2009.
F -> stands for “female”, my gender.
I hope you liked this kind of post, lemme know if you relate in some way!
I'm actually so glad to have figured out my scent after so long (petrichor if you're curious ^^) because not knowing was genuinely making me dysphoric in a way.
Bc I kept thinking about how I want to be able to scent mark my space and loved ones but also being like "But, wait. I don't even know my scent. How would that work???" and being upset because, since I didn't know my scent, I couldn't actually try to 'put it on'(??- for lack of a better term) or try to carry it.
Anywho, yes, I'm very happy about finally discovering my scent. Yippie yay.
"Alterhumans were just influenced by the internet, they're not real"
Except ever since I was very small I would tell people I was an animal, for as long as I can remember I would try and make myself seem more animalistic and I'd pretend to "hunt", and I would run around on all fours until it became not socially acceptable to do so because I preferred that. This is an identity IV had for a very long time, but now I know what it's called.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: this is my experience, all experiences are different and should not be compared for validity. All alterhumans are unique in how they experience their alterhumanity
