finally getting around to doing an intro post

took me long enough! will be updating this as i go along and remember things

you can call me blue. i'm 21 years old, and use she/they pronouns. i'm a transmasc genderfluid nonbinary queer.. something.. i'm still figuring myself out LOL

i'm also autistic and i have far too much time on my hands, i like drawing (i'm just a hobbyist so don't expect anything professional), yapping, and roleplaying/writing. maybe i should make some roleplay blogs.. idk!

for this blog i'm not too sure what it'll be yet. i guess this blog will be the mario blog for the most part, but there may be the occasional non mario post! either way it'll be tagged. i will probably make other sideblogs for other fandoms later.. maybe.. i dunno yet i'm not sure if i wanna deal with handling multiple blogs.

my main biggest special interests are super mario, spongebob, serious sam, and superman. spongebob and mario have been my earliest special interests since as early as i can remember, and also my longest running special interests. the two interests and characters that have basically been with me my entire life! i love alot of favorite mario characters but the main man in red himself is my all time favorite and has been since day 1! he's a comfort character of sorts i guess. i could talk about him forever and what he inspires and means to me. i love all forms of mario but i especially love supershow mario. ^_^

other interests i have are boomer shooters in general (serious sam is my main favorite of course), the terminator, the sims, dc comics (well only a couple of other characters, superman is my main favorite, and i'm still learning) the tick, inspector gadget, animal crossing, and probably some other things i cant think of right now.

Felt like drawing one of my favorite Mario power-ups.

I love the cape! I used to play Super Mario World all the time when I was little. I still love it, I've beat it quite a few times now recently. It's a game where I can just pick up anytime and play, the nostalgia is strong with this one.

I was also testing with this shadow behind Mario. Didn't know if I wanted to keep it or not, so I made two versions.

He looks like a comic book hero with the shadow.

mario is missing is a funny game. i remember watching some gameplay and listening to the voicelines (is it bad i actually quite like how the bro's voices sound in that game kinda..), this video showcases the ending with the voicelines, and the one i want to focus on is the voiceline where mario's like "oh, luigi! it’s a great thing you did. it’s much nicer to be free, I was getting so sick of bowser’s cooking." and that just implies that bowser was just casually cooking for mario while holding him captive. that's something to think about LMFAO

i love other mario and nintendo characters, but i think my favorite will always be mario, i've loved him as early as i can remember and i will always love him, for as long as i live. i really love mario, he means the world to me. the first mario game i played was super mario bros 3, the GBA port specifically, on my sibling's gameboy. and that was my introduction to mario. a life changing experience for me. i was drawn to that red plumber immediately. mario was pretty much my superman before i discovered superman (i liked superman when i was younger, though i only knew surface-level knowledge, cause at the time comics intimidated me so it took me a while for me to actually read them!) but anyway! back to mario! lots of rambling incoming.... i apologize in advance

he inspires alot of similar feelings in me that superman does, hope, optimism, joy, comfort, wanting to be a better person, seeing the good in things, hoping for a better tomorrow, you get the gist of it. he is an extremely important character to me, and always makes me feel better. i remember when things were happening in my life that were too overwhelming, confusing, and upsetting for me to understand, i'd just go play a mario game, or watch the cartoons. or heck i'd just watch some ytps (speaking of which i absolutely still love the mario ytps..) the world may have been confusing, but mario wasn't, and mario would always be there for me when it felt like no one else was.

anyway! i'm really appreciative of all the support i've been getting so far, i used to post my art online like a decade ago! but i just stopped one day, i started getting really nervous, alot of inner thoughts and all i dont wanna get into. but i've tried breaking out of that recent-ish and i really didnt think my silly art would get so much support, i'm really thankful for it!! it makes me motivated to draw and post more 🫶 well, even then no matter what i'd still be drawing cause i draw for myself but i also like to share it for others to enjoy, share the fun, right? thank you guys !!

fanon mario and luigi designs for funsies, also including their other color palette

usually when i draw a character i try draw pretty close to canon, with a few of my own stylizations but other than that i try keep their design close to canon. but this time around i wanted to make a fanon design for the fun of it, maybe i'll draw this design more idk but here's a quick doodle of it

star buttons, why? cause why not! the striped socks are important to luigi. i was gonna make them red like how they are but i wanted to make them green in this case. also they have matching keychains 🥹
