Hal took a sip of the wine and chuckled. She chose a good bottle, indeed. “What can I say, sentiment comes to play when old age is catching up to me,” he joked, shrugging. Too many things had happened over the course of the six years since they last saw one another. Hal took a seat beside her, elbow on the table as he rested his chin on his palm. Hal knew he looked ridiculous - as if they were teenage girls, dishing out gossip on the cafeteria table. He scoffed at the idea of Ash being a domestic innocent housecat. “You’re the most dangerous housecat if there is ever one,” he laughed.
He simply blinked at her. “You? Begging? Please don’t put images in my head.” Ash never begged - she was never one to do it, rather she’d be the one at the other end of that stick. Their past romps came to mind although Hal quelled it fast. “Honestly, you haven’t missed much,” Hal started, sipping more of his drink. “London does seem to keep chugging on without the usual suspects, although…” he paused for dramatic effect, winking at Ash in the process. “I have to say, we have more international persons running around here - specifically from eastern Europe. They’re driving Zach crazy.” Hal leaned forward, picking up her fork (well, technically it’s his) and twirled some pasta on it. He took a bite and moaned involuntarily, munching. “What about you eh? I keep losing track of you - seems like you love traipsing around Europe under another alias.”
“I don’t need to put images in your head. That photograph memory of yours keeps everything in perfect technicolor proximity.” She lets her tongue peek out to trace her lower lip, tugs at it with her teeth. “I bet you like that, don’t you, Hal.” She wonders if he lets anyone else do the things to him that she has, if he submits to other playmates the way he’s submitted beneath her touch. She didn’t necessarily come here with sex on the mind, but it’s always fun to reminisce and she likes it when they tease each other, as if the tease is really even necessary. “Eastern Europe hmmm,” she mused, knowing grin on her face as she watches him pilfer the fork and claim pasta for himself. “That’s what originally brought me to Europe. Heard claims that there was a group of up and comers bragging that they were going to expand, get a foothold over here. I went to go scope them out, see if they were worthy of the label of competition, or people worth working with, or just a bunch of talentless gnats buzzing about.”
Ash focuses on her glass of wine, deep slow sips of the heady liquid within. “If you aren’t traipsing around the globe under side alias’s every decade or so are you really even living the criminal lifestyle?” she teased with an affected air. “I did, however, reach a lifelong goal of catching Interpol’s attention, not that they know what they’re doing the poor dears. But it was fun to see my alias come up on a list.”
