Disclaimer: I am an adult running this blog. While I typically keep things family friendly, I do not recommended people under the age of 16 to be viewing. I occasionally draw violence, blood, body horror, mild suggestive themes, and harsh language. I do tag anything that might cover those subjects, but I still wouldn't recommend staying if you are uncomfortable with that. Thank you!

What couples do you have in tomodachi life right now
I have so many of them but the funniest one to me is Hatsune Miku and Chell Portal being married and super in love. and they have a daughter
Of course Quiver and Sidia are married too. And showtime is real on my island.
I've been trying to get Count Bleck and Tippi together but Bleck wants nothing to do with her, even though she is head over heels for him.
And Kasane Teto has asked like 5 people out (some of them more than once) and they either rejected her or didn't show up. I feel bad for her 😔 She asked out Miku but she rejected her for Chell. But they still invited Teto to their wedding so uh
Out of nowhere, just curious, but what did you think of the ending of TADC ep. 9?
In my opinion, I do wish we knew more about the original cast, but what do you think?
I really liked it! I'm a sucker for lore stuff like that too but I respect Goose's decision to make the show very character-focused because that's where all of its main themes come from.
I'm gonna go much more in-depth and VERY rambly, so I'm gonna put the rest under the cut for spoiler (and long post) reasons. Fair warning, it's kinda all over the place :,) I'm not really a 'critic' or anything, and I have trouble putting thoughts into words sometimes, but for those who wanna read my word salad, it's below.
The Jax Half
I enjoyed the deep-dive into Jax's psyche, but before I get into that, I just wanna say that Ribbit really stood out to me. I went into the theater unsure how much of an impact she was going to leave with only having one episode to really shine, but she stole every scene she was in. She seemed like such a nice and genuine person, and it really hurt to see Jax gaslight and ostracize them like that. And the fact they kept trying to reach out despite Jax constantly pushing her away is just...really sad but impactful for what little screentime she has. Also I love Kaufmo too, he seemed like such a chill dude.
Back to Jax, I was always kinda iffy on him, mainly cause I'm just not the biggest fan of asshole-type characters. But it was nice to get a deeper look into his brain and find out why he is the way he is. He isn't just a jerk for the sake of it--like an onion, he's got layers. And the realization that he is actually a she that is stuck inside an egg prison unable to come to terms with herself and ends up pushing all of her vulnerabilies deep, deep down is really sad. Jax's tale is one of tragedy, and honestly? I really respect that.
One of my criticisms regarding a lot of modern media is that they tend to shy away from telling tragic stories. Every bad character has to be redeemed, every dead character has to come back in one form or another, every sacrifice is not really a sacrifice but a temporary setback. Now that's not saying those are all BAD things, per se ('dead' character coming back also happens in 9 but I will get back to him), nor is it bad writing if those things happen. I love a feel-good ending too. I just think it leans that way more often than not, so it's a nice change of pace when it doesn't.
That might sound mean to say, but it's somewhat refreshing to have a genuine cautionary tale about someone who had every opportunity to change, every chance to see what he was doing was wrong, had so many people trying to help him, but, because she believed she was beyond saving, she became beyond saving. It's the sad result of what happens to a person when they isolate themselves--physically and emotionally-- from others. I mean...Jax did have it right when she said "I did this to myself." Because...yeah. She did. But it's a tragedy because...she didn't have to. And Pomni offering one more olive branch of friendship to Jax that she accepts right before she goes is just heartbreaking but beautifully well done. It's never too late to change, but unfortunately, it is too late to stop the consequences. And that's a very bittersweet end to Jax's character.
The Caine Half
Okay, I said I would get back to him, so here it is: Honestly, what they did for Jax was where I saw Caine's arc going. I thought he was the tragic character that didn't have a change of heart until it was too late to be saved. But then 9 came around and flipped my expectations right on it's head: they made Jax and Caine two sides of the same coin. Both of them are very insecure and deal with those insecurities in very self-destructive ways. They both push people away, (though Jax is more intentional and Caine is more unintentional) and try to hide their true feelings by masking.
However, where Jax is unable to accept and grow past his mistakes, Caine realizes the error of his ways and takes time reflecting until he finally has the opportunity to come back. And the whole part where he works his way back to the humans is just so impactful and speaks volumes about his growth despite it having little to no dialogue.
He is, both literally and metaphorically, grounded and has to work his way back up from the bottom. You can see his thought process as he starts making these shapes, the first few of them not working, so he is forced to try again and again. But when that's not working, he tries something else, and that works. Then he reaches a wall, and his first instinct is to try and force his way through. But when that does nothing, he has to slow down--pace himself--and think through it before it shatters like delicate glass.
Caine is the type of guy who needs instant gratification, he craves validation and solving problems immediately. So with this test of will, he is forced to slow down, think and analyze his situation, and work his way through it a little at a time.
And then he does the most selfless thing he can--when he finds an insecure Wi-Fi signal, he debates going through and escaping into the internet. He could go...and leave all of his problems behind. Those humans who didn't appreciate him probably wouldn't miss him, or so he likely thinks. But instead, he uses the limited time this signal is available to help the humans. Despite everything they have gone through, he still finds it in his heart to love them.
And after searching their names and finding out how lovely their lives really are, he realizes the error of his ways. That the world they wanted to return to so badly was so much better than he ever knew. In this epiphany, he releases the blue ai, the one that was perfect, the one that he thought would make him perfect too. But the thing is, what separates Caine from the blue ai...is his sentience. The blue ai is perfect because it's distinctly not human. It cannot think or feel or do any of that. It is machine. Meanwhile Caine, despite not being technically "human", has humanity and sentience and feelings. And he is imperfect, as all humans are. He is more like a human than he ever realized.
And then, my personal favorite scene in ep 9 (and maybeeee even the series as a whole though that's a tough call) is when Caine finally returns back to the circus. And the Moon is there, waiting for him. She tells him that despite everything he has done, she still loves him. To which he realizes he never programmed her to say that, and she replies "I know." Caine was so focused on getting approval and people to love him and his work that he didn't even realize the love that surrounded him. And since the Moon is one of his creations, he unintentionally created his own self-love.
Ending
Once Caine reunites with the humans, it's a very calm and understanding atmosphere. I've seen people say that they don't like how Caine was so calm and quiet once he came back, but I don't think he suddenly "changed personality". Most of his extreme demeanor was an amplified and performative version of his personality meant to mask his insecurities. He used to take everything as a chance to be silly, even when the situation didn't seem fit in an attempt to act like nothing bothered him, when it's clear it really did affect him underneath it all ("Kaufmo abstracted?? WhY diDn'T aNYboDy tELL mE? 🤪" Meanwhile he is extremely distressed at the idea of them all abstracting and leaving him)
But now he is being much more sensitive and understanding, because being silly while he is genuinely apologizing for all the pain he caused is just not appropriate. He always had the ability to be genuine, he just never chose to until he grounded himself. We can see his silly and zany side in the ending sequence and credits, he is just as chatty and curious and happy as ever, he has just learned to be more considerate and less obtrusive. That's growth 🌱
Anyways, I've said all that I wanted to say about Caine, so I'll finish up this essay by talking about the humans themselves. I love that we get to see how well they are doing. And despite the possible (and understandable) existential dread of their brain scans being in the circus forever, it really does give them peace knowing that somewhere, a part of them is living life to the fullest. Even the abstracted characters. And that sort of thing is honestly the real core of the story.
I like how we get just enough to know their other halves are doing fine, but nothing more. Because what really matters is how the members of the circus choose to live their lives without dwelling anymore on what could have been. What matters now...is the future they can build for themselves. And that's message is really special to me. We should spend time loving those around us and aspiring to make our lives better. That's what TADC is all about.
Anywayyyyys if you somehow read all of this thank you, appreciate you 🫡 I spent a solid 4 hours typing this ask out and editing it and trying to make it somewhat coherent so hopefully...this answers your question lol.
Hey Star, I've been meaning to ask, have you heard the Super Paper Mario musical project that GameRecRoom has been working on, over on YouTube? It's one of those things where someone takes official video game music and adds in lyrics of their own. It's been really fun to listen to, they've just gotten to the Underwhere in terms of the story. There's a song in the Sammer Kingdom part of the story that has me super emotional, and I think you would probably enjoy it too.
I haven't!! But I love Super Paper Mario, so I will definitely look into it! 🫶
Im not sure if ya ever got this the first time and chose not to post the reaction, (which is alrigredy) or maybe it didn't get to you in the first place but heres a dream i had about Prisma.
It was my oc (kabumu) going on a galaxy adventure to deliver mail and they got to an icy planet which is probably your planet, and plot twins is, this was the ending Lol.
(Context, this is how The residents of Kabumus home planet greet people normally, Because to their fire resistant bodys this is a harmless light prank to them.)
Wondering how prisma would react to meeting corrosaknight (my star worrier oc. Who’s kinda just the husk of the ice SW an evil remanence of the master crown. This return to dreamland with magolor) aka other star worriers
*I’ll prob post art of em later*
Point being how would they react to other star worriers
*sorry if this makes no sense*
Prisma gets along with just about everyone so long as they are nice to her and her friends
