Howdy! Welcome to the official Startraveller AU™ blog, where I post about (almost) all things relating to the Startraveller AU. Whether you're already familiar with the AU or just now hearing about it, I'm hopeful you will enjoy what this blog has to offer. My main blog is @flaretheskywing, if you need that for any reason. Most of the content here will be artwork, but there may be the occasional bit of writing here and there. May consider opening an ask box if people like the AU enough.

☆Synopsis☆

What if Steven never returned to Earth after turning himself in to Aquamarine?

Instead of making it to Homeworld, Steven - dubbed "Starlight" - is instead ambushed by space pirates and left marooned in deep space far, far away from Earth.

After living with a pair of friendly moth-like aliens for a time, he is forced to run away for the sake of the safety of this new family when Gems come to the planet looking for him. The ensuing eight long years is a constant game of cat and mouse with Gems and alien bounty hunters alike, where every day is a struggle for survival.

Only a few years into this new nomadic lifestyle, Starlight learns of the Earth’s destruction at the hands of the Diamonds, who had come to the planet to retrieve the Cluster. Broken with grief and anger, he makes it his life’s mission to seek revenge on the Gems who took away everything and everyone he ever loved.

Fun fact: While Starlight doesn't corrupt in his main timeline, there's this other Starlight - Apex - who I play with in a lil' sandbox with some of my friends who does. There's a lot of context that I can't even begin to explain, but basic gist is Apex corrupts while being AWOL with a friend because he has a breakdown over how terrible of a person he thinks he is. A while after this he also gets a promotion in the organization he works for, reasons unrelated to the corruption thing. Bonus: Those antenna are very, very sensitive to vibrations and I had the funniest idea to show that. (Ft. @gaudess-schmoddess's Bubble)

Realized I never posted this lol The basic gist is Starlight got kidnapped by aliens and they yoinked out his gem. Weren't quick enough to stop it from forming, though.

From the depths of a familiar void, thousands of voices cry out in glee.

Timeskip/Era Conn-E. Boasting a new holographic projection made out of hardlight - thus in turn allowing her to physically interact with the world - she has control of most of Homeworld and New Earth's infrastructure. She can manifest just about anywhere on Homeworld and/or New Earth, and can even make copies of herself if she needs to physically be in multiple places at once. Conn-E can often be found residing in one of the two planet's "terminal chambers" - a room covered in monitors in which she conducts most of her duties. The supercomputer housing Conn-E's primary hardrive is located on New Earth in a highly secure facility; kept safe since day-to-day infrastructure on New Earth relies on her.

☆Starlight Variant - "Apex"☆

This variation of Startraveller Line Steven comes from a timeline where he never does end up reuniting with the Crystal Gems. Instead, he ends up wandering the cosmos for years upon years on end with only his AI companion - Conn-E - keeping him company. Bounty hunting eventually becomes his sole source of income - and his source of nutrition. After a harrowing event that forces Starlight to do the unthinkable to survive, feasting upon his kills became the norm.

As time goes on, Starlight becomes infamous for being an efficient killer. He starts hand-picking vile people to put on his hit list not for any monetary gain, but the personal satisfaction that he's ridding the world of evil. It reaches the point that not even other bounty hunters dare to take any contracts on his head. With his confidence bolstered by this, he abandons the cookie cat persona and personally hunts down Helkrut and Onyx to eliminate them as payback for being on his tail 24/7.

Starlight eventually eats his way to the pinnacle of bounty hunting hierarchy; becoming that line of work's apex predator. His reputation precedes him, for even every day people know who he is and in turn fear him. Now at the top, Starlight seeks to leverage his reputation and power into finally taking his revenge on the Diamonds.

Despite his infamy and reputation, Starlight still feels as though he does not have the power or technology needed to best the Diamonds. So he uses an artifact that he found in his youth to begin traveling to other worlds. During this time, he loses sight of his original mission and begins cleansing these other worlds of evil.

P.A.R.S.E.C - an organization dedicated to protecting the multiverse - does not take too kindly to Starlight's actions. A squad is sent to his location and he is swiftly apprehended. Seeing potential in him, the organization's leader - a woman called the Overseer - gives Starlight an ultimatum. Either he would be sent home and turned into authorities, or he agrees to work for her. Starlight chooses the latter.

During his time working for P.A.R.S.E.C, he is eventually paired with fellow agent Jean "Havoc" Maverick (owned by my good friend @novantinuum) While initially unhappy with this arrangement - since Starlight prefers to do missions solo - as more and more time goes by the pair eventually becomes inseparable. They're so close to the point that Starlight would divulge some of his deepest grievances and show his most vulnerable side to Havoc. Though in the presence of other people they will use the names "Havoc" and Starlight respectively, behind closed doors they simply refer to each other as "Jean" and "Steven."

RIP any new content for this blog for a while. This year's Art Fight teams got revealed and now I need to focus everything on preparing for Art Fight. I can probably squeeze some progress into the thing I've been working on in between that, but no promises.
