I have a headcanon that in the musical version of Michael and Sam back in Arizona and in Santa Carla that they had a game they were play called Superman where Michael would pick up, stretch him out and then running around yelling “Superman!” And maybe making a whoosh sound.
It was a way to get Sam’s mind off of their father and the abuse. Although they don’t play the game as often when they were younger, they have fond memories of the game.
Hehehe this definitely happened and I’d like to think it’s among the reasons Sam never “outgrows” comics! It’s possible that Michael was briefly into Superman as well when they were much younger, and it was a game they played with each other anyway. Sam could easily look back at those games with fondness. That said, I think aside from Michael himself becoming disillusioned with the allure of comic book characters after feeling like they were too unrealistic and childish, I also think that their small age gap (about 3 to 4 years by my estimate) does mean Michael only has a small window where it’s reasonable for his teeny arms to hold Sam!
Ok sure. Hit me with asks about TLB and I’ll try my best to answer in one paragraph!!!
