a scene in obsession that almost had me crying was when bear was begging nikki to just “be herself” as if he didn’t disgustingly distort her from herself into what she became. Like. dude. she can’t be herself … BECAUSE !! of you.. 😭 and she falls to the ground nearly crying rambling about how she can’t. or rather that she is. because… well yeah of course this IS her NOW but it’s not who she is supposed to be and it’s bears fault that she isn’t

… and even then, he doesn’t actually want the real nikki back because he still wants a version of her that will love him. just one that is “normal” about it. women as commodities to men yet again …

Bear saying “would it be so bad?” with 0 compassion and walking right out the damn door as nikki is begging him to put her out of her misery is sick. that part was actually bone chilling. maria silent hill i see you in everything
