kat wished so hard for freedom that she manifested the abyss, i’m telling u. yes it is omniscient and it has existed for longer than she has but it knows her. it knows everyone who’s gazed into its depths. and i really think its influence is dependent on whether you gaze back, how far you let it spread and infect the nooks and crannies of your mind, your soul, your body. and i think kat was willing to do that. what did she have to lose ? she’d be dead soon anyway. and this is why she is most susceptible to it. i think swann was also desperate and vulnerable, because in a lot of ways, i’d argue she’s not too different from kat. so here we are.
