honestly Abort is such a perfect album. there's a lot of songs from Here at the Home on it, but re-recorded, and they honed great songs into utter perfection and truly with every listen it blows me away. it's so well balanced sonically, every aspect stands out at just the right time

#keeping all the tags since i like my thoughts on this->#personal #tribe #i wanna say i'm obsessed with a particular portion of the album but that would be every single part LMAO #but i will say a few stand outs #eric's guitar is amazing in EVERY song no joke. but Vigil........... i cannot explain how important this song is #those guitar solos make me tear up *every* single time. it's such a moving song and it overwhelms me #also the guitar in Outside and Serenade is sooo good oughhhh #okay and all their harmonies????? christ it's so satisfying they meld together sooooo well #god and janet's voice....... she's got such power and depth it basically soars throughout the songs i mean it when i say that she might #be one of my favorite vocalists #and terri's vocals on Rescue Me... voice of an angel im not even joking #and greg's basslines are INCREDIBLE you can feel them and they go SO hard... god it's so hard to choose my fave basslines but rn they are i #Abort and Easter Dinner #also terri's keyboards are just...... chef's kiss. the sinister sound in Daddy's Home OUGHHH and in Tied they're so danceable #and david's percussion through the album is truly outstanding but in Vigil.....ANOTHER level. it's stripped down but between the guitar and #the drums it MAKES the song #istg Vigil is the best song on the album. and a perfect album closer #Rescue Me is defffff a close second though #i mean all the songs are so good it's hard to rank them #“a few stand outs” i proceed to write a dissertation #OKAY ONE MORE THING my theory is that terri wrote Serenade about eric (since they later got married)#(and she's credited as the songwriter)#and it's SUCHHHHHH a beautiful and sweet song im 🥰🥺😭#I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH #AAAAAAAAAAAA
