𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 : the denying of feelings, foul language, drunk confessions
“so…you and him aren’t together?” your friend asked your for the third time that night.
“no, i’ve told you this a hundred time.”
“like no romance whatsoever? no romantic feelings at all? not even a hookup?” she continued to press, thinking you might have a different answer to each of those questions.
you shook your head to each one. “no, we’re friends. we should be able to be friends without you assuming things.” you told her, putting your glass into the sink before making your way back to the kitchen table where she sat.
“in my defense, it’s not just me assuming things! it’s his friends, the rest of your friends, his cast mates, your co-workers, even people in the grocery stores!” she provided evidence to back up her point.
“i know and i’ve told them all this too! i swear there’s nothing going on between us! timothée and i are strictly friends. nothing less, nothing more.” you sternly said.
okay, so, maybe you were lying just a tiny bit. maybe you did have some feelings for timothée but she didn’t have to know that. the feelings were also very small so they didn’t matter.
you hadn’t had the slightest inkling that timothée might’ve reciprocated those feelings until one night. timothée was drunk and staying over at your place.
you were telling him to get undressed so he could put on some clothes that he’d left from previous sleepovers. he refused, acting like a child.
“c’mon, tim, just go in the bathroom or something.” you pleaded, holding out the clothes.
“you know,” timothée slurred, shaking his head. “i think you’re trying to sleep with me.” he stated which made you laugh.
“i promise you i am not. now, please, go change.”
“i have a girlfriend and i don’t think she’d appreciate you doing this.” his words were slow, you almost gave up listening before he made it to the third word.
“her’s name y/n.” timothée added which made you stop and stare at him.
“y/n’s…not your girlfriend, buddy.” you cleared your throat. how the hell did he think you were his girlfriend? you were friends.
“i know,” the drunk boy huffed, crossing his arms. “but she’s pretty and i want her to be.” your heart was beating rapidly at his words, you were surprised he couldn’t hear it.
“you’ll..see her in the morning. i’m not trying to hit on you, i just want you to change and then sleep. can you do that for me, tim?” you asked, your tone was soft.
the night ended with him eventually changing and then falling asleep. it just left you in a confused state and you were barely able to get any sleep.
timothée woke up the next morning with a pounding headache. he couldn’t remember anything from the night before and was about to ask you until he saw that you were alseep next to him.
you looked so peaceful that he couldn’t and didn’t want to disturb you.
timothée didn’t even notice that his heart was racing at the thought and sight of you. he tried to shake off that feeling and the ache of his head, getting out of the bed and going into the bathroom to grab some pain killers.
his mind trailed back to you once he chugged down the painkillers with water. he still remembered nothing from the night before other than the fact that you spent most of it dancing. the thought of you in his arms and of you being close to him was enough to make him smile to himself. then he began to think just about you. your laugh, your smile, your ability to make him feel better with just a word, the way you cared more about people than yourself, the way you always stood up for what you believed it, and the- oh shit.
timothée first instinct was to run and grab his phone, facetiming armie and that’s exactly what he did. he sat slowly on the bed, waiting for armie to pick up.
“it’s seven twenty six in the morning, this better be important.” was the first thing armie said when he accepted the call.
“i may or may not be in love with y/n.” timothée confessed, expecting some big reaction from armie who instead just laughed.
“congrats, you’re the last person to know.” he said which made timothée raise one of his eyebrows.
“no, okay, listen. i swear i didn’t think i had feelings for her until just recently. like a few days ago, she was laughing and i swear my heart started to beat out of my chest-”
“then there was yesterday where i walked in on her crying and wanted to kill who ever made her do it until she said it was because of a movie-”
“and then there was a few minutes ago where i couldn’t get her out of my head! it’s like god dammit, why do you have this affect on me?!” timothée continued, ignoring armie’s interruptions.
“so, i’m gonna take a wild guess and say it’s love?” armie spoke in a sarcastic tone.
timothée was going to continue until he heard you say his name. he had almost completely forgotten that you were sleeping right next to him.
“i gotta go, bye-” timothée ended the call before turning around to face you.
“who was that?” you asked, rubbing your eyes.
“just armie. wanted to tell me about something. wasn’t that important though.” he lied and got up. “you want breakfast, i can make some. just because you took care of me last night.”
“hmm,” you hummed before nodding your head. “that’d be nice, thank you.”
timothée made his way out of the bedroom but stopped in his tracks and peeped his head back in the door.
“i forgot to tell you that i may or may not be in love with you too.”
