So I've been looking for part-time work since I got back from deployment, not seeing much that captured my eye. Last week I saw a nice HR job, great pay, good benefits, and only a 10 minute drive away from me. Two days after applying I had my first & only interview with them, which happened to be May 5th, with the HR director. “They brought me up from Mississippi ‘cause I speak English good.” Yeah, he spoke like that, and he said some sexist and racist things too. But what still gets me was a comment I didn't think too much about during the interview, “I'll make this quick, I know it’s a holiday for you.” I didn't think too much about it at the time, was just thinking of getting out of there and pissed I wasted my time.
Some time later I was at Chick-Fil-A, reading Facebook while stuffing my face with delicious hate-chicken, when I noticed the Cinco De Mayo posts. Dude, really?

Despite being in Afghanistan for most the semester, I got a 4.0 GPA this semester (with 15 credits!). Granted, I was only going for 6 credits, the other 9 were credit for life experience, but it's still awesome.

This situation is very common. While working at a racetrack as a teen I learned that the horses are often given a goat companion to calm their nerves and keep them from feeling lonely. The horses get so attached to their friends that should something happen to them the horse will become depressed or ornery and refuse to run. So obviously a bit of sabotage would be to steal the companion of your rivals horse. This is where the phrase “Something got your goat?” comes from.
I am amazed by the animals stories I read.

I didn't get everything done I wanted to before I left, and now I'm busy and/or without vehicle. Anyways, I saw Lone Survivor, and it was AWESOME. However, not the movie a guy going to Afghanistan should watch with his girlfriend. We both were tearing up, it's a tearjerker for sure. And to end here is the last known photo of me:
