as much as i want (and quite frankly need) eddie to be secretly alive and in hiding, i don't think it's going to happen. he's gone and nobody cared except for dustin and his uncle. someone loved needed to die this season (as they do every season) and eddie was that guy. he had potential, obviously, but the main cast is already huge and with the addition of new characters it also becomes more complicated and difficult to write. he should've lived, i agree, but they're too afraid to kill any of the main cast whether for the inclusion of new characters or just to leave that gap. max died and she was a main character, yes, but then she was revived and kept alive by el.

i have high doubts for eddie coming back but please do keep sharing ur theories of how he could return. s' like a reward 🫂

(also all of u that were glad he died please don't make fun of people or belittle them for being legitimately affected by his death, you're just being insensitive at this point)

i am not one to cry often or be sad over a fictional character i-thought-was-cool's death but like- eddies made me full on sweat, shake, eat my own snot, all tht shit and it's not bc it was 'good death' or because 'he finally became a hero' n' whatever bullshit it's cuz he was a character i finally /saw/ myself in. the little 'freak' boy that likes to crack jokes, the outcast nobody really wants to get to know, the one that looks and dresses different than everyone. ik i sound like an emo ass dweeb rn but god fucking dammit man.

and then the scene with dustin and his uncle fucking hell. he was supposed to graduate god dammit. (+ a scene with all the hellfire club members mourning him would've made me cry more, obviously, but it would do him so good -- show that he mattered to /all/ those he's befriended) (love mr. wayne tho)
