&&. CASSIAN

            the explosion had been something that was mentioned to cassian when he first woke up. another base gone- not that it was surprising from what he had been told about this new group. they seemed just as set as the empire had on destroying this resistance. it seemed they were just as resilient to survive. 

           cassian however had been lucky enough to have been woken up after the explosion had happened. he was ready to fight again. that being said he still wasn’t over being blown up last time he was alive. he wasn’t sure immediately being brought into that would have served him, or the resistance well. 

           but now that he knew jyn had gone through that. he wished he could have been there. the woman was always reckless. reckless to a point that made cassian worry. besides that she was closed off- this new environment couldn’t have been ideal for her. 

           not that it was ideal for anyone

           but seeing her here right now, watching a look of sadness and confusion shift into the biggest smile he’d seen from jyn, thoughts were pushed back to savor this. he smiled a bit in return, wrapping his arms around her, “i wasn’t there when the base blew- besides. i think we both know who was more likely to get caught up in something like that,” a slight teasing voice used. 

               MAYBE SHE WAS STAYING IN PLACE -- IN his arms for a bit too long, but she didn’t think cassian seemed to mind. besides, jyn was too caught up in the sensation of comfort after all this time to pull away. it was... strange for her to indulge in such affections from the man who she’d spent half their time arguing, but right now she needed his touch. it had been far too long since she’d been in such proximity to another. here in coruscant, jyn was closed to the world. the soldier simply did what was expected of her and then retreated to her own space.

               jyn stayed in his arms for a moment longer, face hidden on his shoulder before finally looking up to cassian with a genuinely grateful smile -- grateful for him simply being there and being so accepting of this all. the two had never been too physical unless he was holding her back, but she supposed their previous fates truly did draw them closer together... however that left more questions to be answered regarding their standing. those questions would be pushed aside in jyn’s mind though. 

               green gaze never left his, but she did move away though not enough to be far from his grasp. ❝ it certainly wasn’t anything i’ve never experienced before, ❞ the woman teased back -- though it was definitely a dark subject. ❝ ... i, uhm- i’ve got an apartment now. they’re far better than what they had us in before, have you been assigned your space yet? ❞

&&. CASSIAN

      it seemed war followed cassian wherever he went. his whole childhood had been overwhelmingly consumed by it. adulthood followed a similar pattern- why would he expect this to be any different? of course he was brought back to fight the first order- a group that apparently had only stemmed from the very empire he had died fighting. 

     – had his death been for nothing? was the galaxy cursed in the same never ending cycle of war for freedom. 

he was no stranger to war, to oppression, so there was no question if he’d be ready to fight this battle as well. but cassian- he was prepared to give the resistance just as much as he gave the rebellion. 

       so why was he so focused on jyn. the last face he’d seen become everything went blank. the same face that he had asked about as soon as he’d been briefed, because of course they brought her back. the resistance needed someone as stubborn as her to fight their battle. no, what he didn’t expect was to be told that he’d most likely find her wandering the street of the entertainment district. but they were right. 

cassian caught up with the woman, weaving through crowds quickly before she could slip away. before she could turn the corner, he finally called out, “jyn!”

               THE EXPLOSION AND ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION OF the resistance’s original headquarters was loud and with jyn being so close to it -- the event rattled her and shook her to the bone. the fiery clouds, the monstrous sound... it brought her back to what happened at scarif. except this time, there was no one to witness it with her. needless to say, her night terrors worsened after moving to the uscru district. 

               sleep was difficult upon being revived, but now it was near impossible. jyn knew why she was here though. she knew that she’d been brought back to fight and possibly die again. it wasn’t her choice, but she would follow through on her orders without a sliver of nervousness for appearance’s sake. the only thing that made her worry was cassian. was he here? if they hadn’t brought him by now, when would they? 

               jyn tried to stay in her assigned apartment when she could, but there were days when the solitude would get to her head. silence was deafening at times and it was too much to manage on her own, so she’d go down to the streets and take a long walk to collect herself. tonight was one of those nights. 

               her mind often wandered to cassian -- about how upset she’d be at the resistance if they revived him and made him go through all this again yet how happy she would be to have someone here. it was selfish, jyn knew that, but being alone was maddening. even with his nagging voice and his stern comments, jyn had to admit that she missed him at times. he was the only person who understood what she’s been through. 

              and she could even hear that voice... jyn dared to glance back with little hopes of actually seeing him, but there he was with that shaggy hair and rugged stubble. the woman froze for a few moments before a minuscule smile cracked at the corner of her lips -- jyn hurrying over to him and throwing her arms around his neck despite who might be watching. ❝ you’re safe, i thought you might’ve been in the explosion - ❞

               SHE LOOKED UP TO HER ACCOMPLICE IN the destruction of that engine room, taking a small sigh at the man’s words before looking back over to the pack she was ruffling through to find her credits. ❝ you’re right. it is crap, and i don’t think that i’m the poster child for putting on a happy front all the time. people who can do that are-... impossible. psychotic almost. but then there’s that trash about how the funniest people are the loneliest or something of the sort and i suppose that could be true... i’m not much of a comic, but being alone has its perks... you get used to being alone and you can’t get hurt when others decide to leave. ❞ why the hell was she talking like this to poe? maybe their experience opened some lock in her mind... either way, she didn’t care entirely. the two hardly spoke anyway, and that wasn’t enough to be embarrassed by what she said to him. ❝ anyway... most things about this place are crap, i wouldn’t think too much into it. ❞

He wasn’t going to say that this was the smartest thing Poe’s done in the name of the Resistance… On the other hand it certainly wasn’t the stupidest. That being said, if Snap Wexley were here right now he was certain that he’d be told how dumb this was. Sure he’d follow him anyways, but begrudgingly for certain. Although he wasn’t sure anyone with the Resistance could really say anything about being reckless. It was practically in the job description . 

Besides Poe couldn’t lie- blowing things up always gave him some sort of thrill. Especially at the cost of the First Order. Wait- where was he going with this. 

Watching Jyn place some of the explosives, he moved to place his own on the opposite walls. “I’d say we got a couple minutes. At most- I gotta say,” he paused to set the detonation time, “You’d think a militia this big, they wouldn’t have this large of a gap between time slots.” Finishing up with his own, he moved towards the door to make a quick escape at shift change. “The hangers down the hall- if we start off the explosion presumably they’ll rush here. Which should give us an opening.”

               IT WOULD BE EASY TO GET ACROSS TO the hangars in time before the explosives went off. the guards would run towards any sound of destruction -- leaving their posts to investigate what happened with their bad aims and mediocre fighting skills. poe was right though, the first order was huge, how could they think it was reasonable to leave these large gaps between transitions? jyn was grateful for their stupidity nonetheless, but it was still baffling to her. her and her crew of impromptu recklessness helped take down a large operation of the empire, who knew what she could do with some time and careful planning. 

               poe knew where hangars were, so she’d need to sprint if she was to keep up with him. the woman nodding at his quick plan, taking a quick glance back at the explosives placed on the walls. ❝ we’ll detonate halfway to the hangars then, it’ll give enough time for the helmets to run over here. ❞ jyn finished with a reassuring, yet cocky smile. ❝ ready to go, captain? ❞

&&. ELIJAH

fingers busied at the monitor, swiping at various diagrams and blueprints of the vicinity—– feeling that nothing had ever changed. he was in his element, and going back to his own datapad he smiles when he hears the sudden voice that responded. eli settled back in his rolling chair with a mischevious grin on his face. ❛❛  that hurts, but s’all good as long as i’m paid with a drink. ❜❜  he teases back, waving back with the security camera motioning in a hello before he taps away. the first order truly needed to up their security game, because it didn’t take any longer than five seconds for elijah to break through their virtual walls to infiltrate their control room module.

watching the security cameras, he sees that the fairly large door slides open—– smirking in pride. ❛❛  still got it~ alright, doll, get going. gotta warn you though, there are a few stray bucket heads and seemingly scientists going around the laboratory. i count… five. two troopers– armed, three scientists– unarmed. should be a piece of cake for you. ❜❜  he zooms in on the scientists that were at their stations in panic while the troopers seemed to be frantic in trying to convince them to leave.

❛❛  looks like they’ll be headin’ your way. you’ll be coming up on some funky contraptions you can hide between if ya want. ❜❜

               THE WAY THESE TECHIES WORKED ALWAYS made the woman smirk in amusement. that level of focus on their faces -- the small quirks some of them had like not blinking or fiddling with a stress ball of some sort was something that never failed to tickle jyn. too bad she didn’t see the guy right now. maybe it was for the best though -- there would’ve been endless teasing otherwise. once he settled back into that chair, jyn watched the hologram with arms crossed over her chest. ❝ i’ll buy you all the drinks you require if i’m out of here with all my limbs and a heartbeat, kid. ❞ ...he was probably not much younger that she was -- if younger at all, but it was simply her way of speaking. 

               the waving security camera brought out a brighter smile, jyn pleased to see how quick he was with the equipment. and jyn opened her mouth to quip back at the doll comment, but his information was too good to interrupt. five... that wasn’t too bad. with their aims it’d be like fighting only one. she nodded firmly and began moving in their direction -- forest hues searching for those contraptions for only a few moments before finding them and jumping between a small space to wait for the group to move by. ❝ they’re moving away, i don’t want to draw attention just yet by fighting anyone, ❞ the woman explained in a light whisper seconds before they walked by -- jyn unnoticed. 

               she waited a while longer before finally emerging and continuing down the hallway. ❝ next step, chef? ❞

&&. POE

Poe wished right now that he had actually paid attention in his mechanics classes…because while all of this looked familiar…he really had no idea what he was doing. This was why he originally planned to blow up part of the hanger- that was a lot more straight forward. Although knocking out both would be ideal. That is if they didn’t accidentally kill themselves whilsit trying to shut down the lab. Right about now is when he wished Cienna or Rose had come along because chances are they’d be able to fry all of this in a second… without blowing up the whole room. 

But you worked with what you had right?

He looked over, watching her explain her idea, “Space them out on the walls- I’d think we could get the whole room blown if we’re smart about it,” he glanced around the room briefly, taking one of her, “We have a minute to get out anyways,”he added absentmindedly, trying to work through the room in his head. The biggest issue was going to be getting away before someone came to investigate who blew up the room. Although that was something they could worry about after, “What you’re saying should work- start lining them up over there I’ll get a couple on the other walls.”

               CASSIAN WOULD  N E V E R  ALLOW jyn to do something like this. set up explosives in a confined room with only a minute to operate?? she could hear him now -- ‘ no, jyn ’ in that ridiculous accent... a nice accent, but still annoying when it was him speaking. nevertheless, poe seemed to be the better companion in this trip due to the recklessness he allowed in the mission. a mechanic would have been nice, but this was far more impactful. needless to say, there would be more suspects, but why not add in a stupid little engineering room along with the federal building? the resistance was being blamed anyway -- might as well get the blame from something they actually did. 

               at his instructions, jyn gave the man a firm nod before taking some devices and running to the opposite side of the room to start placing them in distinct spaces as to ignite another close by. being sure to put on on the main panel, jyn ran back to him in a matter of second -- taking his arm and pulling him back towards the exit quickly. ❝ how much time do we have before they come back? we should wait until the guards come, so possible another minute or so before detonating, i’m sure we could get to the hangar in a few minutes as well and that is definitely far enough to ensure safety - ❞

&&. POE

Poe was relived for once to not be mocked for his lack of planning.  Or his plans for that matter. Planning could honestly make things worse if someone’s not adaptable… at least that’s what he told himself to justify himself most of the time. Although as much as they hated to admit it, he thought that was a distinguishing characteristic of the Resistance.He figured he hadn’t died yet so might as well stick with what he knew. He let out a brief chuckle at her comment, “The Stormtroopers at least. You’d think they’d teach them to shoot straight,” he commented back. 

Rushing into the room Poe was overwhelmed by all the lights and switches. This was nothing like anything the Resistance had. He moved over to one of the panels trying to make sense of what the lights and switches actually meant. If they had a few hours, he might be safe but, “I was hoping you knew how to do that- not sure we have enough time if we’re both flying blind,” he mumbled, opening up one of the panels furrowing his eyebrows. Sure he could rewire his ship need be… but he was no technician. Digging through trying to find something in the mechanics he answered, “I mean we can always make one.” He thought aloud, looking for an exit himself. While making a loud escape wasn’t ideal… he wouldn’t dismiss it until he had to. 

Eyes shifted over to Jyn at the question, pausing his ‘’progress’ on the control panel. He glanced down at his bag, pulling a few detonators out, “If we can find the main power source we can set of a chain reaction and get out of here before the door locks up… I think.” He passed them over to her, “The likelihood of it imploding seems fairly low.”

               PERHAPS TWO INEXPERIENCED PEOPLE SHOULDN’T HAVE BEEN MESSING around with a room full of dangerous equipment, but they were both eager and willing to do this for the resistance. at least he probably had experience with operating his ship -- bodhi was always the person in charge of that in her case. him and k2 were the geniuses, jyn was simply the one stupid enough to run at any danger brave enough to face an erso. his words did nothing to calm her, but the adrenaline was at a high right now. a small smirk stayed on her lips as she looked back at the many panels to source the main. explosions... that could work. 

               assuming the largest was the main, she moved over to it and observed the levers with a small tilt of the head. ❝ would connecting them to several be a bad idea? just to be sure - ❞ jyn asked, taking the detonators he had provided her and giving them a quick glance before moving her focus back to the power source. ❝ like you said, a chain reaction, right? chances are we’ll do some damage with half this place in ruins. ❞ the image made her grin, but now wasn’t the time to imagine -- now was the time to act. ❝ so i’d say we start from that back panel -- the largest of that row and then move the detonators to this, ❞ she finished, gesturing to the wall - length panel before her.

DRUNK CONFESSIONS - CLOSED 

               EISLEY GRINNED INTO HER GLASS MUG -- the giggles seeming to come every minute or so as she dared to peek over at the person accompanying her. and with another sip of her drink, the girl started -- ❝ y’know, i’ve never had a boyfriend... like... ever. and that’s okay-! you know - not everyone needs to be in a relationship and i for a fact do not want a boy seeing my bed head in the morning... unless i really really like him... but we’ll have to be married before he sees that birthmark way high up on my leg - ❞

&&. JACEN

He worried about what Winter might think about what he had done since she had last seen him. As a child he was decently quiet, especially in comparison to his sister, and was fairly open with himself, constantly searching for approval. While he wasn’t completely different then the little boyshe knew… he was still had been changed by circumstances and time. Anakin’s death was a major turning point- he’s created fractures since then, not that he’s proud of it, but it’s his reality. He just hoped that this could be a second chance.

Watching her face shift, he paused himself. Ben had disappeared after the disaster at Luke’s training academy… but no one had thought to mention to him what happened to his siblings. Maybe once this crisis was averted, he could find more information about what happened to them. He perked back up at the mention of his sister. His reckless, stupid, sister. “She’s trying to get in the base, I’m supposed to go in after- I didn’t feel like fighting about it she was clearly going to do it wither way,” he motioned back at the building with his head, “Over there.”

               JAINA ACTED LIKE SHE COULD ALWAYS HANDLE THINGS HERSELF, and perhaps she could, but that didn’t mean winter never worried. however jacen was another story. and yes, he was fully grown, but some things never really changed. stepping closer, she set a caring hand to his jaw for a moment. ❝ please go to the headquarters -- the resistance headquarters. i still feel like your mother will kill me if anything happened to you. ❞ and with a loving tap to his cheek, she pulled away... but could she really trust him with that? maybe he’d just run off to assist jaina anyway despite her instructions. maybe winter had lost that power over him which she had when he was little -- her being able to get him to run off to bed with some firm words and a kind kiss to the forehead. 

               yet who knew what kind of life he continued to live. so instead of immediately running off for jaina, the spy sighed and took his hand -- tugging him to the headquarters she had recently been revived in. ❝ i know you’re too old for this but i’ve had a rough day so please don’t argue, love, ❞ she spoke quickly, pace fast while she headed back with him. ❝ jaina’s at the first order base, yes? i’ll go instead, i’d rather have you staying safe than myself. ❞ how she wished that they had enough time for him to tell her about everything that’s happened in his life but in the midst of all of this, it was impossible. the face he pulled when she mentioned ben was enough to prompt an hour long conversation alone.

&&. JAINA

Jaina was still getting used to being back. As per usual when dealing with stressful situations Jaina threw herself into whatever she was doing- repairs, flying, this case trying to stop the first order from completely destroying the resistance and rebels. It almost felt like nothing had past, this was exactly what was happening the last she remembered except the dark side had a different name, but it was all the same in the end. A never ending war, hundreds if not thousands of people dying, and Jaina’s unending determination to stop as much of it as she could.

Here on Coruscant it was making her antsy that they were stuck on the planet, they they were trapped and there was no chance of hyperspace travel which was honestly was Jaina really wanted to get back to doing as flying was first and foremost her biggest passion. She felt relieved at least it was a city and there were things to do and people to meet.

She knew that Jacen was bound and determined to keep her in one place, safe from harm’s way on the rebel base but that wasn’t her style, it never was, and she had been preparing to attack the first order base all day and was ready to head out when someone grabbed her arm, much to her annoyance “What are you doing?”

               WINTER HAD JUST FOUND JACEN, AND THE SHOCK FROM SEEING him as old as herself was enough to make her want to lay down for a while. but he’d spilled that jaina was doing something -- and anything jaina was doing with regards to the first order couldn’t be good. the girl had always been a handful, winter knew that it would only escalated into adulthood. while she would’ve liked staying behind with jacen to make sure he was okay as well, jaina was probably already in some death ridden operation she pulled out of her ass. no, she wasn’t the babysitter anymore, but winter was basically family. 

               with brief directions from jacen, winter felt as if she ran clear across the whole town to find the girl. she was far too old for this... well, she was twenty-six, the same age as jacen was now much to her disbelief, but how could she ever forget those years watching over these kids in the first place? that was enough to stop for good after that long. nevertheless, jaina was part of her heart and she wouldn’t let her carry on with some assumably reckless plan.

               winter was where jacen said she’d be, but there was an issue which she just realized... she had no idea what jaina looked like... since jacen was around her age, she expected jaina to be older as well though. frantically hurrying around the floor, winter scouted every brunette she saw until finally she recognized that confident stance along with leia’s eyes. faster than she thought she could move, winter quickly grabbed the girl around the arm. ❝ i’m stopping you, what do you think you’re doing?! ❞

&&. JACEN

Jacen closed his eyes, sighing a bit when she returned the hug. Seeing Winter brought back some of the best memories he held from his childhood, While he loved his parents, everything was peaceful with Winter: no Jedi training, no kidnappings- it was some of the few moments he remembered actually getting to have a relatively normal childhood. It might not have been ideal for the entirety of his life, but having some time away from the mess that being the child to both a Solo and a Skywalker brought was relieving. 

Letting her pull him away, a small smile grew on his face, along with a brief chuckle, “I’m 26… Although, at least now… it’s confusing with all this kriffing reviving…” As weird as it was for him to see his former babysitter younger, he couldn’t imagine seeing someone from his life grown up… and judging by the astounded looks she was giving him he felt like he was probably underestimating how uncomfortable she felt. Jacen’s own questions revolved around Why she was here?… or, perhaps more important, When had she died? Had it been during the time he didn’t remember from his own life

Jacen’s eyes followed her own, glancing behind himself briefly, “Oh- I mean… *fine*? I’m still kind of lost at what’s happening…” As for his siblings? Jacen knew where Jaina was, as she dragged him here, but Ben and Anakin? “I don’t know about Ben… or Anakin,” he furrowed his eyebrows a bit at the thought of his brothers, “But Jaina’s trying to find a way inside right now.” 

               SO HE WAS THE SAME AGE AS SHE WAS. it almost made her a bit sick, but she supposed it was for the best of the cause. it wouldn’t been terrible if the resistance brought back a little kid to assist... but still, it was odd. he wasn’t that little boy who she’d have to secretly slip in his room to read to him at night so that jaina didn’t make fun of him, or the toddler she’d let color on her arms with markers. and if he continued on with his jedi training up until now, winter wasn’t sure if she could win him in a fight or not. not that they would ever fight, but the whole situation was so strange. well, at least now she knew what he’d grown into. by the looks of it along with how he spoke, jacen seemed like a fine young man -- one she was already proud of. 

               she bit on her bottom lip when he admitted that he didn’t know where ben or anakin was. ben had always been a bit different from jacen and jaina, but winter always at least tried to include him. but his last comment snapped her out of all thoughts about ben -- winter now more concerned about what the hell jaina was doing. the girl always caused trouble. she loved her, but damn, was she a handful. it must’ve only gotten worse over time. ❝ trying to find a way in? in where? ❞ she questioned quickly, voice more urgent as she stepped closer to the boy. thunderous eyes looked into his with that same stern yet somehow soft look she always used when she tried getting information out of him. ❝ jacen, where’s jaina? take me to her - ❞ she was a grown woman and yet winter still felt the need to protect her. a bit ridiculous, but it was habit at this point.

&&. LEIA

              THERE WERE STILL SO MANY PIECES TO SORT OUT. Being fixed in one place while others were askew in comparison, the news that somewhere down the line she and Han would be parents ( repeatedly! ), the constant mix of faces new and old to process ——– it was enough to make her head swim. And she found, much as it had before, that walking did her good in these situations. Han could busy himself for hours on the Falcon for the same effect, but with not so much as even a circuit board for her to offer to work on, this would have to suffice. 

What did it say about her that she felt more at home in a hangar now than she did the living quarters?

A voice managed to refocus her, eyes wide in disbelief at the sight of her. “Winter?” A familiar voice —– one she hadn’t heard in ages. The revelation; the relief in hearing that her friend —- her sister for all intents and purposes —- had been off - world when their home had been destroyed paled in comparison to the surprise in getting to see her again now. They had always seemed to have been on opposites ends of the Rebellion before – Leia left to butt heads and mitigate along with the other members of High Command while Winter did what she had always done best.

    “Winter they got you too, did they?" 

Arms wide, she met her somewhere in the middle. "My son? You’ve seen my son?” Which one? But that means Winter knows. That means Winter’s older too. How much time is she missing out on again? But she pushes back the urge to wallow a little bit more in the fact everyone’s ahead and she’s BEHIND. 

   “Someone with an interesting sense of humor. I ——– think I’m younger than them myself.”

               THE HUG WAS INSTANTLY RECIPROCATED WHEN SHE APPROACHED, the bridge of winter’s nose scrunching up in tie with her radiating smile. she had watched over the children so frequently that she felt as if she was part of the family -- but now everything was different. now the kids were as old as she was and winter had to pretend that she didn’t change their diapers. nevertheless, that paired with the fact that this city was a complete stranger to her now put the woman in need of her closest friend. luckily leia was just as she’d remembered and winter already knew that it’d still be as easy as ever to talk to her. 

               pulling away from the other, winter’s smile remained plastered on her lips. ❝ just jacen. he’s far taller than i am, it was more than a shock, ❞ winter chuckled regarding the recent memory. it wasn’t surprising to hear that leia was younger than her own children -- these scientists seemed to want everyone revived at their peak ages -- but they had to understand that it would be more that awkward. ❝ have you seen them though? i haven’t seen jaina or ben or anakin yet, though now i am sort of afraid to... ❞ what if anakin was older that her too?? anakin was only a baby when winter was taking care of him, she wouldn’t know what to do if suddenly he was thirty and looking down at her, literally, after all she’s remembered of him. 

               she looked back to the many ships in the hangar, bottom lip bit slightly before turning her attention back to her friend. ❝ i think i’ve come at the wrong time though - ❞ not like it was her choice to begin with. ❝ they did a lousy job with briefing me, but was there a fire? ❞

A gentle yet malicious smile graced his lips as he studied her. Poor thing, had he the time he would have looked more into her situation but he was currently on the way to meeting a client. His time was money and if she was speaking of a master then she herself had none. Dryden Vos never did anything for free, not even out of the kindness of his heart, if he even had one. 

“No child I haven’t the slightest clue. But I assure you these gentlemen will see to your needs”, he said knowing full well these stormtroopers would find such promise preposterous. “What is your name my dear?”, a slight friendly grin flashed for a moment. At the interruption of one of the guards his eyes narrowed slightly, the striations upon his skin faintly visible before he calmed himself. “If you have not been released by the end of the day, you tell them Dryden Vos will be collecting you ”, he says to the young woman. 

               HE STRANGELY REMINDED HER OF WHAT HER MASTER USED TO be like when they had first met, yet there couldn’t be a motive behind this man. eisley had nothing to offer and he had to have seen that given that the girl was behind bars to begin with. her heart sank in her chest when she figured he wouldn’t be releasing her, but again, she was grateful for the services he had provided her by making the officers give her master a message. 

               the way he called her child made her blood turn a bit colder, yet eisley could never falter in her stance. she wouldn’t dare upset him -- not when he was the only person who was helping her right now. ❝ eisley veira, sir - ❞ she answered, eyes leaving his to look over to the office who had interrupted. and when she heard that he had to be off, pale pink lips turned to a small frown. however her gaze moved back to him just as he’d made his promise. she wasn’t certain how much weight it held, but he seemed important to have guards around him like that. brows raised slightly at his proposal, eisley lagging a moment before nodding quickly. ❝ thank you, sir, i- i appreciate it - ❞ she stammered out with that smile returning. ❝ but what is your name? ❞

                WITH THE CURRENT SITUATION AT HAND, IT WAS NO TIME FOR REUNIONS. however, winter had already bumped into jacen and though the meeting was odd -- winter was now dying to see the rest of the family. but jacen was now about her own age... the boy she used to babysit could’ve been the guy she hit on at a bar if she didn’t know any better. and if he was twenty six, she only assumed that his siblings were way older as well. the thought was daunting, but she still loved the solos nevertheless. jacen hugged her like he always had with that giant smile -- although the man now towered over. kriff, she used to pick him up and sit the kid on the counter beside her while she made them breakfast and now he could toss her over his shoulder. 

               she’d just gotten there though and it was taking a bit to get used to her surroundings. the quarters they’d given her was nothing like her home, but she supposed that it’d have to do. winter could only assume she had died if the resistance found it necessary to bring her back as well, but those were thoughts to deal with at a later time. for now she was just off to find han and leia, and if she knew them, she knew they’d be at the hangar if they weren’t fighting. rounding the corner of the first floor, winter pushed back her pale blonde hair while crystalline eyes searched for a familiar face... and unlike her son, she was far younger. 

               it took a moment to fully process it all, but winter’s smile widened on her lips involuntarily. ❝ your son is my age, did you know that? who thought that was a good idea? ❞ she teased as she made her way to the princess with that same wide grin.
