Fuck it, I’m doing an ‘End of Days’ style nostalgia blog before this place goes dead from the ban. It’s one of the few social network sites that never shows up in the google results for my name anyway, so I can leave it up.
I started using tumblr in 2008 when I was 18.
I still look probably 15 tops to most strangers.
I was studying journalism as a freshman in college with a minor in history.
I’m now Internal Operations Manager for a residential construction company (with 3 locations official as of this week!)
I’ve been through 3 tumblrs, 4 career fields, lots of hair colors, and a freakin landmine of bad dates.
Most of the mutuals on here followed me from when my blog was kelli-leigh-o. I don’t remember what my second blog was called.
The one thing I’ll really miss most about tumblr is actually not the NSFW content, but still being able to see @ashmariie-blog’s posts before she died and what her queue posted after her death.
The tattoo I have is the Bible verse she titled her poetry blog with.
My most reblogged post was a video of me telling my cat she can’t have any ice cream. 🤦🏻♀️
Pretty willing to answer any and all remaining questions some time between now and mid-December. But mainly I’m very happy for the friends I met through tumblr who I still keep up with on other platforms. Many of ya’ll supported me through John’s suicide, Ashley’s death, my parents time spent separated, the loss of my first love, and a lot more. You also cheered on all my successes in college, grad school and with each new career I pursued. Not only did I get great internet friends but I’ve also had some fun bar crawls, Halloween parties, BBQ’s and more with you guys. One of you crashed on an air mattress in my apartment for 2 months. One of you was my roommate for 2 years. One of you brought me soup when I was sick. One of you I introduced to your chocolate lab puppy. Some of you surprised me by the student union the day my class handed out the first copy of Centric magazine, which made the entire class beam with pride!
I’ve really enjoyed having an outlet like tumblr, but I think I’ve outgrown it for what it is now.
I’m in a really good place these days.
I’m enjoying some success at work as a junior Manager whose role is growing very quickly. I’ve got 2 little heathen furballs who give me a reason to look forward to coming home each day. I’m in the healthiest relationship of my life. My family is well. And I still have my best friends. Life’s good.
I hope the rest of you in the tumblrverse are able to say the same for yourselves. And if you’re not I hope you get there through a very fun journey with good company.
