Don’t cry because it’s over, cry because it’s a pandemic

Day 7 of my quarantine, I got excited today thinking I only have 7 days left but then I realised the whole world is in isolation, there is still no end in sight and I will not be able to walk out these doors to embrace my friends and family that I haven’t seen in years.

This is not the reunion I invisioned, I imagined laughter, tears, hugs and tender embrace, celebrations and sharing stories. I cry and cry some more. I miss my life and my friends in Canada, so many loose ends left to unravel.

I know this is just the beginning however it feels like the end.
