PSA: If you’re a feminist, you SHOULD NOT follow me because
i DON’T believe that men are the only ones with gender specific flaws
i DON’T believe that women are saintly by default
i DON’T that it’s okay that women are sentenced to lesser jail time than men for committing the same crime while having similar criminal history
i DON’T believe that it’s “no big deal” that men are falsely imprisoned due to false rape allegations and conviction because “it doesn’t happen to a lot of men”
i DON’T believe that caring about men who are imprisoned over false rape allegations means you don’t care about actual rape victims
i DON’T believe the fiction that feminism has ever included or truly cared about all women of all races
i DON’T believe that feminism cares about the unique needs of black women
i DON’T believe that feminism cares about the unique needs and struggles of little black girls
i DON’T believe that femininity is innocent and pure by default while masculinity is evil and tainted by default
i DON’T believe that’s only the feelings of women matter
i DON’T believe that the only time we should talk about domestic violence is when men are the initiators
i DON’T believe that when it comes to domestic violence, men are ALWAYS the initiators and aggressors (psst statistics prove it is quite often women)
i DON’T believe that women should get to hit men and men should not defend themselves INCLUDING hitting back
i DON’T believe that feminism is a perfect flawless movement that is above reproach (it’s quite flawed and racist as fuck)
i DON’T believe that women of religion should be excluded from the discussion of gender equality
i DON’T believe that colorism is only a Black woman’s issue
i DON’T believe misandry is myth is hatred doesn’t require a system, only oppression does
i DON’T believe white women are the standard for what femininity is
i DON’T believe you have to be a feminist to desire gender equality with an eye on justice
now don’t get excited meninists, i’m NOT a part of your fucking lame ass crew either. however i think this public service announcement was needed. if you are feminist following this blog, now would be a good time to unfollow.

you just carefully obliterated white feminism. 👏🏽👏🏼👏🏽👏🏼👏🏽👏🏼
here is the problem with simply calling this white feminism. the above is where most feminist start. any collection of these will be the starting point for most people who call themselves “feminist” because they all begin with mainstream feminism which is everything above.
all these people replying with “no. this is not feminism. feminism is intersectional” don’t know their history. don’t know that feminism at it’s roots always ignored black women, for instance, and it was always up to black women to inject intersectionalism into it or just create their own movement. going all the way back to the days of susan b anthony. all the way back. why the flying fuck do you think black women started womanism? if feminism was intersectional from jump, why was womanism started? why was the national black feminist organization started in the 70s? because black women didn’t have shit to do? why then did alice walker, audre lorde, angela davis and more speak on how feminism (NOT white feminism but feminism) ignore racial issues and the unique concerns of black women? because they were bored?
the truth is that most of these black women are married to the word “feminism” and would rather hold on to that than admit that feminism doesn’t care about them. it’s a word that easy, everyone knows it and there’s a certain shine and glitter on it that make it impossible for them to turn their back on it for something that actually addresses their needs. for something that IS actually intersectional at its core. at its roots. maybe it is the proximity to whiteness that word affords?
all i know if that these people are talking about feminism like it’s just intersectional like the sun is just hot. it’s not. it’s been proven over and over and over and over and over again. once you start talking about intersectional feminism, you are no longer talking about feminism. you are now talking about black feminism/womanism. let your love for that white focused creation die already.
it is black women and other women of color who brought intersectionalism to feminism. you can’t just give credit to someone or something for something that was brought to it by another. that’s like a historically segregated school finally accepting black and poc students after years of protest by black and poc people; then someone comes and talks like the school was always integrated, a complete lie and a lie that completely washes away the work, the toil, the struggle of those black and poc citizens who pushed the school to integrate. that’s some serious fuckery and feminism does this everyday to black women and other woc. feminism is by default exclusive NOT inclusive. it is by default racist NOT tolerant. when feminism is being racist as fuck, it’s not being some abnormal version of itself and it’s not being “white.” it’s being its true self. the self that made black women march in the back of the procession. the self that regularly called black people “animals” and “savages.” the self that said “white supremacy will be strengthened by suffrage.” the self that dismissed ida b wells, anna j cooper and other black women also seeking gender equality as no one important. the self that made anna j cooper say "only the BLACK WOMAN can say ‘when and where I enter, in the quiet, undisputed dignity of my womanhood, without violence and without suing or special patronage, then and there the whole Negro race enters with me.“ she said this in stark, loud opposition to the racism of susan b anthony and her lot during suffrage.
stop with this fantasy that feminism is non-racist and non-fucked up to high heavens. everyday feminists prove otherwise.
then again i have to remember i’m dealing with mostly kids on this site so…
either way, you’ve been warned. i will expose feminism for the fuckery it is every chance i get. AND i will extol the virtues of womanism every chance i get. loudly and proudly.

When men try to tell black women how to identify because they feel feminism ultimately attacks their masculinity - a WOMANIST
Womanism is a social theory based on the discovery of the limitations of the Second-wave feminism movement in regards to the history and experiences of black women, and other women of marginalized groups.
Writer, poet, and activist Alice Walker is credited with coining the term “womanist”. The term has evolved to envelop varied, and often opposing interpretations, however, mainly, womanism allows black women and other women of color and/or marginalized groups to affirm and celebrate their color and culture in a way that feminism does not allow them to.In the words of Clenora Hudson-Weems and Alicia Boisnier, black women often struggle to identify with traditional feminism, because they do not identify with the issues that feminism typically advocates for. Alternatively, Delores Williams, a womanist theologian, associates womanism with the traditions and activism formed from the conditions, events, meanings and values within the African-American community. Williams further asserts that the task of the Womanist theologian is to embody activism by seeking out the voices of the unheard and the experiences of the neglected. She identifies the distinct difference between the experiences of the black woman and the white woman that makes it difficult to identify with feminism. One of the key components of feminism is to end a woman’s subjugation to her male counterpart, yet there are other oppressive forces that black women face that takes precedence over the perceived subjugation of the black woman by the black man. This represents an expectation and experience of the black woman as one filled with the quest for knowledge, competence, and authority that surpasses the individual, but encompasses the group. This idea of community rather than individuality is further illustrated by the portrayal of a woman as the embodiment of her environment. In this way womanism does not focus indiscriminately on the experiences of black woman, but desires the reconciliation of all people to their spirituality, their relationships with each other, and their relationship with nature. It characterizes women as willful and capable thereby contrasting the image of a women as subservient and inferior. In doing so, womanism empowers women, and challenges them to break from the traditional definition of womanhood.

The feminist movement traditionally was a middle class white women’s movement and rarely included women of color. In its first wave in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, the movement fought for suffrage rights for white women, and later in its second wave the focus was on cultural and social rights which involved sexuality, family laws, workplace, and reproductive rights. Although Feminism addresses and fights for gender equality, it rarely addressed equality and justice for black women. It was never involved in the civil rights movement to help guarantee black women social equality. Unfortunately, there have also been some claims that some members of the feminist movement were racist. Justine Tally mentions in her article Why ‘Womanism? : The Genesis of a New Word and What It Means, “many early so-called feminists supported racist eugenics initiatives, including sterilization of minority women”.
During that period, women of Color or African American women were not only suffering from political and social inequality similar to their white sisters, but they were also racially oppressed due to the color of their skin and ethnicity. The white women of the feminist movement failed to recognize this aspect, it did not encompass the realities and perspectives of the African American Women’s suffering from slavery and segregation. This is why many women of color couldn’t associate with Feminism and found representation and identified with the new term “Womanist”.
Another difference between Feminism and Womanism is that some feminists present men as the enemy in their fight for equality in a patriarchal world. It can be seen as a separatist movement, unlike womanism that emphasizes women’s relationships with men and the importance of family who are “committed to the survival and wholeness of entire people, male and female” (Alice Walker). Womanism not only fights for the gender equality but for justice against racial oppression against African American men and women.

yea all this is about my masculinity. alice walker, anna j cooper, audre lorde, bell hooks and etc were all concerned about my masculinity. lmao. due to all this attack on my masculinity i support political, economical, social, cultural and spiritual empowerment for black women AND NOT ONLY THAT i identify with a group which was created for this purpose. yea. that makes total sense.
