New skirt and stockings up in the shop! I only have the MSD size stockings, but I believe I have more of this fabric, so if you’re looking for SD, send me a message! I went tubing on my birthday (July24th) and got second degree burns because no amount of sun screen can shield my pasty self from mother nature. So! I’ve been laid up for awhile getting rid of blisters. My sister is having a c-section for her baby on Monday and last night a flash rain downpour knocked out power for half of the downtown center. We’ve been in a massive heatwave for at least two weeks... That all said, I’ve been up to some fun things! I have an announcement coming for a new service coming to Steampetal! An official partnership is being revealed soon! I’m in new shows with my gallery work! Sarin is almost together properly, and I’m excited to reveal her after her character upgrade. Phew! Happy Summer! <3

I’m officially on summer vacation from the school I work at (in the fashion department) at the end of today, and my number one goal this summer is to get all existing stock up on my etsy shop, and get some new items made and available! If I make a new item and sell it, if I have the materials available to make another, it’ll be listed in the Made to Order section of my etsy.

Hello Everyone! Sorry for my social media absence! A lot has been going on and I haven’t found the proper time to update and let people know where I’ve been and what I’m doing. First thing first, Steampetal is still active, items are available on my shop. Available items are listed as normal, pre-order items are tagged. Check everything out at Steampetal on Etsy

On top of being the technician for the fashion department and backstage manager for the show, I was also doing a side contract to run their social media. What took up most of my time though, is working on a different direction for my career. I’m a lady of many faces when it comes to business, and I wanted to pursue something I’ve been thinking about for awhile now; Gallery shows and sales.
This means is that my work as an artist will be split into categories. My brand, Steampetal, will continue to be my collections of clothing for BJD’s and my aromatherapy products. I’ll be working under my own name for my gallery work however. I urge you to follow me on Instagram under Tracy Austin Atelier.

Tracy Austin Atelier My more stylized and couture work will be up on my Atelier. I intend to work on a level of fine art, using techniques and detailing that are not possible with my ready to wear items at Steampetal. Most of these items will still fit BJD’s, but they will come at a much higher price point. I don’t intend to list them online, so to inquire about purchase, contact me personally. Otherwise, I’ll be aiming to have the pieces displayed and sold as textile sculptures. More on those as they come! Finally; I’ve started a blog to go with my new Atelier side. After the opening of the Faculty show, Persona, at the George Fry Gallery at NBCCD, I had a bit of introspection and thought that perhaps my work needed an explanation; That I needed to explain why my piece, “Auric” is more than just a pretty dress.
[awr-ik] 1: of, relating to, or derived from gold
2: relating to the aura supposedly surrounding a living creature. Auric, at face value, is an intricate and detailed outfit of authority, elegance, poise and finery. It evokes power and has regal materials, colours and qualities. It is meant to display the outer persona that I want to project to the world. On the opposing side, it’s a binding corset with a huge cumbersome skirt; It would take skill and effort to wear, endurance to uphold and a dedication of intent to support. Auric is not only the outer image, but the inner persona that is uncomfortable, struggling and carries the weight of my outer ambitions and projections.
I’m so honored to be vending at this show! These are some of the most well known craftspeople in the local community and I’m so happy to be in a showcase with these amazing artists! I’ll be showcasing all of my aromatherapy and bath products here as well as launching my Yuletide scent and maybe another secret project ;)

Trick or Treat, it’s almost Halloween! I’ve decided to celebrate this spooky month with some trick or treat surprise bags!
