Daena Targaryen, aka Daena the Defiant

Born: 145 a.c. Parents: Aegon III & Daenaera Velaryon Siblings: Daeron I (the Young Dragon), Baelor I (the Blessed), Rhaena, and Elaena Spouse: Baelor I Lover(s): Aegon IV, tbd Children: Daemon Waters/Blackfyre, tbd

Daena was known not only for her beauty but also as a fine archer, hunter, and rider, and earned herself the moniker 'the Defiant' for being a Queen in open rebellion against her King and husband's wishes, frequently escaping her imprisonment in the Maidenvault Tower. So it couldn't have been much of a surprise (a predictable shock perhaps) when she was found to have become pregnant with a son, Daemon (named for her grandsire), though she would not reveal the boy's true father until years later.

After the passing of her husband and brother, Baelor, Daena was quickly passed-over for the crown (the realm not wishing to see another Dance) in favor of her uncle, Viserys II. Though in truth she didn't entirely mind. Daena knew herself to be ill-fitted for the throne.

Daena believed it not only for herself but also for her cousin Aegon IV and their son Daemon Blackfyre, and thus she would contentedly back the succession of Daeron II over her own son's claim. After all he was a bastard, and no one knew that better than the woman that scaled down a tower wall to conceive him in defiance to her lord husband.

Much like the grandsire she idolized, Daena Targaryen loved her family deeply and would do anything to ensure their dynasty continue.
