Monday Forge report: Wow, what a weekend! Friday night Coin Ring class Saturday was a triple header Hubby surprised wife with a private Coin Ring class for their 6th anniversary ( best #datenight ever!),then onto the Shampine Family (belated) Christmas party building Flowers. sometimes I feel guilty, Doug came out (the only ticket sold for wed class for Rrspike knife) and wanted to try a Thomas hawk. I gave him a couple pointers and off he went! slit and drifted a hole, ponded out the blade, and sharpened it . all an hour and a half early!! I offered for him to do another project but he was happy with the 1 on 1 instruction. Bob wants to do something forged out of Rail spikes with his churches mens group. I thought the Fredericks Cross would be a good fit. it is entirely from 1 rail spike. It is derived from cutting lines bisecting the bar, from both ends 90 degrees from one another. when you peel the 4 legs open you get a diamond shaped hole in the center where the lines intersect.
