Thinking about how when I met my husband, he went by a nickname which was a three letter acronym (think, like, JFK). When we started dating that felt weird, so I started using his real name. And because our friends are considerate and queer enough to pick up on subtle name changes, everyone else dropped the nickname too.

Which is fine. He doesn't care either way. Except now I have to grapple with the fact that the way people refer to and think about my husband has tangibly changed because I didn't want to like... moan letters in bed. So that's fun.
