I used to read Clinic of Horrors as it updated when it first came out, but then I got really busy for a while and kind of fell off it.

Just learned a few days ago it was on a hiatus now after finishing season 2, so I decided to catch up before hiatus is over and uh... it is really good so I am already done.

If you like horror stuff and cute stuff this is really good. If you like horror comedy or action horror you will probably enjoy it too. And if you are a fan of paragons Bianca is another of my favorite ones. Her personality is very atypical for one, but that adds to her appeal.

I can only think of like, two explicitly asexual characters in all of fiction who are not like, a robot or alien or something.

Bianca from Clinic of Horrors and Jughead from the Archie comics (but NOT Riverdale despite it being considered apparently).

Some game soundtracks that I highly recommend checking out.

Literally every AC game (but especially the 4th gen games have standout tracks, but there are some really incredible tracks from other gens too like monkey loves daddy, vulture, shape memory alloys, king of no. 9, contact with you, rough and decent, forgive an angel, dirty worker, etc.)

Dolls Nest (the entire track is good and it is pretty short, I especially like three huntresses rush, chariot overlord and twin embryos though).

Homura Hime (some especially standout tracks include tumble and rumble! roly poly operation!, love after war ~ kaleidoscope, shiba patrol strike!, fest! dance! frenzied demon night!, midnight sakura - anthem of silent rain, scarlet flame and to see the sun - mihare and more that I don't want to spoil ahead as they play at very peak scenes)

Ex Astris (I especially like voyage of the dauntless for mixing in the main theme in a meaningful way, reel of the utu van, knight of fury and monitor)

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth (its track is a really cool high tech vibe, especially standout ones include the royal knights and royal knights battle, the main cyber sleuth theme and data is eroding, also the Jimmiken theme).

Ultrakill (I am especially fond of versus, the death of god's will, the world looks white, the world looks red and war without reason)

Oblivion (this is the most nostalgic fantasy soundtrack for me, not just for games)

The sonic franchise as a whole (it has a lot of very varied styles, I especially recommend checking out the tracks from that old sonic racing game, not free riders, the older one. Also adventure era sonic)

Star wars: Republic Commando (Vode An is one of the coolest tracks in any game, shadow warriors I think it was called is also great)

Halo franchise (everybody knows the main halo theme is good, but i especially recommend checking out the ODST soundtrack for how different it is to the rest of the series while still being really good and memorable)

Its cute but I feel like the clear goal of girldad Blade is to twist the knife for (especially Silver Wolf who has never lost anyone she loves before, also he is mostly shown being close with her) when he does die. Which I am all here for, she is my fav star rail character.

I do like Blade though so I hope he sticks around for a little longer before he dies (I still am convinced both Blade and Kafka will probably die at some point, Himeko I think is basically guaranteed to live and most of the cast I think are in no danger of dying), but I don't think he will die before having some closure with some of the characters from his backstory and especially Dan Heng.

And if someone doubts that any character will ever die, while earlier mihoyo games have an exaggerated reputation for it imo, they have shown a willingness to off a character for the sake of the story. Even a playable one (they are just still playable after that point and in some cases even get new units despite being dead, which I think could happen here too since not all events really fit into canon fully anyway imo, tho I think most are meant to happen and they just don't spend too long working out the logistics of it).

Because of the manga depicting her with the francisca shotgun in the latest chapter I got curious on actually using it and tbh even tho I don't have the materials to upgrade it to level 5 yet, it feels really good. It has much higher damage than shotguns have had from my experience so far.

I am honestly pleasantly surprised by how good the Dolls Nest manga is. Likes its not one of the best things I've read or anything, but it is a pretty enjoyable adaptation of the story and I look forward for more of it.

When I heard it adapts the story of the game I was very skeptical, Dolls Nest is very much one of those games where I think it works really well as a game, and it would not work well in another format.

But the manga actually is pretty good. It is more character driven to replace the ways games can better use environmental storytelling, which I think was a good call. It changes some things around to give more chances for characters to interact, which is also a good idea for the new format.

Also it (kind of) gives us a name to call the doll/seedling by now. Nanakino (its actually just some word play with Yoyo misunderstanding being told that she does not have a name, but I think its cute).

I like that they made Nanakino look more like Nehma than the default design in the game (always confused me why the default look did not look more like Nehma, especially since the other nymphs made by Nehma we meet look somewhat similar to Nehma too).

I might be wrong but as far as I can recall Amiya only actually thinks about Theresis one singular time, and it is as one of multiple people she mentions in her thoughts when thinking about how she wants to actually see Kazdel in chapter 13, since as a child she spent all her time in Kazdel inside Rhodes Island.

On a similar note, Theresis I believe only ever mentions Amiya when one of the other KMC members brings her up first. I wonder if it is that he understood Theresa's reasons for giving her the crown, so he never desires an answer. Or if her reasons were just irrelevant to him.

But I find it fascinating how for Amiya she just does not really have a face to attach to Theresis. She never met him, does not know him. She is trying to stop the KMC and wants to bring about Theresa's ideals for Kazdel (and all of Terra), both of which Theresis is an obstacle for. But she can't really have any deeper feelings about him because she never met him. Sure he is behind her mother's death, but Amiya can't really hate an individual who she has never even met.

The one time she thinks about him it is curiosity what his homeland means to him. She knows nothing about Theresis. It is not like with Talulah where she ends up seeing her whole life through the black crown. And even before then she could understand Talulah because they started from the same place emotionally/ideologically.

But I think this is also why Theresis would have been unsatisfying as the final villain of the shadow of a dying sun arc. And why it had to be Theresa.

Amiya does not have a connection to Theresis. Wis'adel does not have a connection to Theresis. Kal'tsit barely does (ironically as he did decapitate her previous incarnation). Only really Ascalon and the Doctor do, which is why leaving his demise to after the climax is fine.

I know some people don't like Nel, I assume partially because she is mean to the player character. But for me that was so refreshing.

Having someone who hates Alear for very petty reasons was fun. And the awkward situationship with her love for her Alear vs her disappointment at our Alear (and then her frustration at growing fond of our Alear) is fun to me. And it also allows for showing a trait of Alear's we don't get to see that much, that Alear can be very insecure and petty when somebody questions their competence. This otherwise only really comes up in like... their Vander support or that one time when Diamant and Ivy were pointing out they are lost in the desert. And I think it is a fun aspect of their personality. Engage cast desperately needed more jerks who could bring out these kinds of traits in them. It is like an ecosystem without predators.

I also like how she calls humans little ones. Nel is not anywhere near the best engage character or anything (that is Hortensia, who is the best fire emblem character don't @ me I will fight you, and id also rank Veyle far over Nel) but I really like her, she is neat.

Sidenote, very funny how engage, the most sexless fire emblem since like.... probably binding blade at least. And first avoider of any weird incest since before the 3DS era, then adds it in via the fell xenologue. Like ok yeah I know Nel is like "well my universe's Alear was not my sibling so its ok" but they are both daughters of Sombron. And then heroes gave us valentines Alear/Veyle. And like, I like that unit because Alear and Veyle being happy makes me happy, but also why fire emblem. Why did you do this for valentines.

So I am asking for recommendations on 'mechsploitation'.

I know War Hounds is a popular one, and I intend to check it out, but I was wondering about other stuff?

I am very familiar with the armored core franchise, 86, gundam, evangelion...

Which I know none of which are considered mechsploitation but all of which deals with themes of dehumanization and disconnecting from other people and how that makes us less human.
