why do you only write platonic painter pressure? I saw your thing while looking through a different tag, is it a headcanon or? /gen
Well for starters i dont write for pressure any more so allow me to update that
Secondly at the time i was a sebastian yumeshipper and saw painter as sort of a little brother figure. Not to imply that they cannot be interpreted as anything else, it was just how i viewed the character
The innate intimacy of expendable dying over and over so they dont have to get the crystal and leave Sebastian.
The Doomed aspect of Sebastian knowing this and still deciding to leave with Painter when theyre finally free from the time loop, leaving Y/N in darkness.
>Warning: (Fluff/hurt with comfort, angst, canon typical horror, mention of death, GN! Reader, romantic(platonic if you squint), can be interpreted as reader having a disability or just generally scared, reader is a pathetic wet kitten)
Your team was far ahead, this wasnât the first time.
They didnât hate you but they didnât like you either.
You couldnât go solo, the last time you did, you died alone and terrified.
Sebastian, despite his words, wasnât a good friend. You didnât blame him though, you appreciated his services but disliked his words.
You couldnt help but wonder if you were an issue, it seemed like no one down here appreciated your company.
The door shut behind you, then again ahead of you soon after. âNoâŠâ you whined, pressing fruitlessly at the keycard reader. Sinking against it as you heard the doors behind it shut, growing more distant. To make matters worse, the lights suddenly flickered with a chime. Something was coming.
You stayed with your forehead against the door, all the while a low, sickeningly familiar song built up in the background accompanied by the sound of a cane. A more distant rumble began to grow.
They left you again.
You nodded against the door.
Mr. Lopee approached you. Wordlessly, what felt like fingers made of static and needles placed at your shoulder. It made you feel numb, the pit growing in your stomach suddenly reminded you how empty it was. He had this effect. You were turned, he walked along side you to the side room nearby.
The room was already ransacked, drawers opened and a lockers doors wide. Behind you, an angler rushed by, breaking the lights and shaking the ground as it broke through the doors. Its scream faded quicker than it came.
âYou arenât going to send me back?â You wanted to say but felt mute around him. He radiated a silencing aura, everyone feared him. Not you, you just were following some base instinct you were yet to understand. Something in you just told you you needed to be careful around him, though you wanted to talk to him like normal.
Your friends will die. My associate and the machine will handle them. I can see that this arrangement with them is not working though.
He began to walk towards the door again, he didnât look back at you. His body a dark shadow against the lighting past the door.
Walk with me. Iâd like to show you something, Y/N.
You stared for a moment then came closer, just behind him.
Walk with me, you are my partner, not my subordinate.
At his demand, you silently joined him at his side. Those pinprick, green pupils stared back at you before moving ahead. Satisfied, he continued walking with you at his side.
The two of you took your time, walking at your pace rather than your teammates. One by one you passed the bodies of your teammates. One by a fake door, one dead by a walldweller, you could hear another being eaten by a void puddle. The last two died to a door stopper, all easily preventable deaths.
Do you understand how lucky you are to not rush through surviving? To wait, learn and understand how to get further each time?
He spoke, standing over the bodies, using his cane to drag a blacklight from the body before leaning down and picking it up. Though it seemed dead, it flickered to life in his hand.
Fools convince the wise that the roles are reversed, you are not inferior because they convinced you that you are.
He walked at a leisurely pace over to you, looking down at the object in his hand. Finally he held it out for you, a slight tremble was noticeable.
Your talents are more needed than theirs, you simply need better company.
You took the blacklight, his hand briefly placed over yours.
Aside from me that is.
He turned slowly back to the door, looking back at you. Wordlessly you began to walk again until you reached a room where he stopped and lead you to a large vent usually inaccessible. The two of you walked through it before reaching a hallway, the sound of radio static becoming audible and the rustle of movement suddenly stopping.
My associate will hold onto you, i will send someone better your way soon.
He says, nodding towards the chain link fence over to your side at the end of a hallway. This was Sebastians shop.
âThank you,â you murmured without thinking. He seemed somewhat perplexed but nodded and looked towards the fence again. You began to walk away, about halfway there the feeling of dread subsided, you looked back and he was gone. You sighed, standing at the fence. Sebastian was staring down at you, he actually jumped when you came out. Sighing when it wasnât Mr. Lopee that came out.
You were hit with a scrutinizing but relating stare, he had experienced something similar with Mr.Lopee. At least in terms of frightening encounters. You knew you had to explain yourself.
I think I've been playing too much Inscryption. I saw a good post by a a moot and went to reblog it but was like "wait, that's a two-blood post. I don't have enough squirrels for that"

It was a stupid death, really. You were too occupied with not dying from eyefestation you didnât see the lights flicker. Your teammate got into a locker though, lucky bastard.
The only good things were that anglers killed quick and you had recently acquired the ability to haunt the blacksite as a ghost after death. The ability was fairly new, it only came to a select few individuals. Maybe a hundred out of the thousands of expendables. Seeing as Sebastians shop was likely just a few doors down, you decided to follow your unknowing teammate as they went along.
The vent opened, your teammate went in with you trailing after, careful not to get to close as to not ruin the fact you were still around from beyond the grave.
âYou know the drill by now, yeah?â The light hanging from his lure flickered to life, revealing the whole room along with his wares. âYup!â Your teammate proudly proclaimed. âIts a shame Y/N died, they really wanted to see you.â
You came out, looking around then up at him. Sebastian looked down at the expendable then squinted in your direction, he must have been able to see you but only barely. You began to move, and thus probably disappeared in his vision. He shook it off as your teammate began to stare at him in awkward silence. âAh, well, im sure iâll see them next time.â
Suddenly, an idea came to you, a mischievous one at that. You continue slowly moving towards him before silently climbing onto the table, then the railing beside him. You were by the side of his face now, his ear flicking as he looked down at your teammate. Slowly, you leaned forward until your lips met the side of his face.
He certainly felt that, you moved back quickly as his whipped his head in your direction, looking around for someone he couldnât see. His pupils shrunk till his eyes were nearly black pools, his nose crinkled with suspicion.
He was still facing your direction, seizing the opportunity you leaned forward again and placed your lips on his mouth, giggling beneath your breath. You could hear his breath hitch and he leaned away.
You gazed into his eyes again, Sebastian had a look of knowing now. He sighed and rolled his eyes with relief and affectionate annoyance. Color crossing over his cheeks.
Your teammate spoke up, âi thought you only charged 100 for code breachers?â He said, holding one up that they picked off his tail. Sebastian looked down at them and readjusted himself. âWhen have i ever stooped that low?â He remarked sarcastically.
âI dunno, i just thought you sold them at lower price,â they said. He scoffed, âif you want something cheap, buy batteries. Otherwise pay up or put it back.â He said⊠then his head turned back and he moved just a mite closer. Not fully but enough to have his shoulder facing you, he glanced in your general direction out of the side of his eyes for a brief moment.
You took that as a sign to keep going, moving closer until you could wrap a hand around his jaw and kiss his cheek again. He hummed, a faint low sound. Eyes instinctively lowering but not entirely closing. Your lips traveled up, âi missed you, Seb~..â You whispered into his ear, using your voice took more energy than youâd like to admit. It was worth it, a muffled growl escaped his throat, his neck bobbing as he swallowed a hidden emotion. The movement caught your eye, you leaned down but before you could make contact your teammate spoke again. âYou ok there?â
Sebastian snapped his head down at them, âfine. Just grab what you need-â he was cut off as your teeth grazed his pulsepoint. He used his hand to cover his neck as he continued speaking in a strangled voice. âPay and leave. Im not in a good mood right now.â He huffs, the expendable looks suspicious but ultimately drops the bag of research off their shoulders and begins pulling their stuff together.
You reached to pull on his claws, not really moving them but giving him the idea you wanted to continue. Yet, he held firm, his hand didnât move even an inch. No more making a fool of him until the expendable was gone.
You were annoyed but agreed to his terms, you wanted them gone too. Luckily it would seem they were about done with their gathering.
You diverted your gaze to the furniture nearby, and with some inspiration from ghost movies you watched as a kid and a little motivation, the cabinets and items began to shake, drawers slamming over and over again.
Your teammate was terrified, nearly dropping the codebreacher and research in their hands. When you finally stopped, a mildly annoyed Sebastian shrugged down at a very frightened expendable. Hurriedly the transaction was completed, and they left without another word. âYou forgot something on the table,â he called out. The two of you faintly heard the sound of a codebreacher being used.
You began to step back down onto the floor, looking up at him. He sighed and looked at the spot you were just at. âWas that necessary?â You poke him on his tail, he flinches and looks down at where you are. âI gave you a revive token discount, why are you haunting me instead of- oh i donât know.. coming back from the dead like every other time?â He leans down til hes nearly horizontal, circling around you with his tail to make sure you canât leave.
To his surprise you peck his lips again, he shakes his head and stands up. âGah! You little sneak, get out of here before i call ghost busters,â he slides his tail around your general area, it phases through you while you laugh. âBye, Seb~â you call out, fading back to that image of a dark table illuminated by three eyes. âRevive next time,â he reminds as you fade away.
