hi! realized i never properly introduced myself. im natt, im studying the intersection of physics and biology (which means i study math, physics, chemistry, biology, computer science and medicine in varying amounts). adult, she/her, tme.

this blog is mostly my to do lists for different days but sometimes ill do a proper "studyblr" type post with pics. they're always taken by me. all my posts are tagged "snailstudy" as im a snail girl.

my main is @smokedgastropod as this sideblog is just to keep myself motivated. so it's gonna be quite boring honestly ;>

i just. girlie has been occupying the laminar flow hood and told me she'd be done in 30 minutes and the reason she's late is because 1) she has the "wrong" lamp (gurl you have a guy with you to hold it?? who cares it's unstable?? you have a literal guy to hold and bring you stuff??) 2) she refuses to use the sucker and prefers to empty wells (which she has like 100 of) manually one at a time because she "doesnt like the sucker" (there's sterile glass tips under the hood. like, tens of them.) 3) she's bitching at me instead of doing her work 4) even that guy she's with is aware it's bullshit

why are you making a standard, in-and-out medium change an hour. girlieee this is at most a 30 minutes thing. i did mine in 20 minutes for you. so you can make me late and mess up my results. ughhh

13 III '26 - spring incoming!!

i'm better and if i could focus for more than 3 minutes it would be amazing. i need to get my academic stuff and my medical things in order though. if things go well, that's only two phonecalls? perhaps three.

i do like how my bioinformatics course started in media res, with us using ensembl as like, the first thing, but now i have like 12 exercises to do on terminal and theyre all quite daunting. how many .fastas do i have to see even...

haha ach so was? ne sorry kann jetzt nichts für uni machen, es ist nämlich winter und meine hände sind so trocken dass die wie uraltes papier zerbröseln wenn ich sie bewege, also nix da mit tippen oder schreiben. handcreme sagst du? ach so ja klar, benutz ich, das heißt die hälfte der zeit sind meine hände so schmierig dass ich keinen stift damit halten kann. sonst noch fragen? nein? gut, ich bin dann ab mai wieder produktiv.

also i thought id get a break with most of my cell lines turned into samples but no! i gotta do an mtt assay on them! that's gonna be being in the lab for 2 hours for the whole week. luckily ill just bank them for the holidays...

27 XI 2025 - oh lord i have obligations

im not even gonna bother rewriting my to-do list here, but life's getting hectic and quite overwhelming. it's also getting real cold and my usual faculty hopping is getting much less pleasant... at least my cell lines are still standing, and there's so much support around me <3
