dude... the reasons were literally in the video but ill give you the benefit of the doubt and put my reasoning into text here

basically its just really frustrating that people only pay attention to nba yaoi/rpf when its two white guys. and its two white guys that arent even THAT compelling together. theres so many nba ships that have more interesting narratives surrounding them, but people only care when they’re both white. and this is in a league that is predominantly black. like. you seriously had to cherry pick in order to find a ship with not just one, but TWO white guys.

and its even more frustrating that lukareaves is the ship thats making nba rpf get popular. like the screenshots i included in the video of people talking about lakers yaoi was either mainstream creators who’ve never mentioned nba yaoi before lukareaves or twitter rpfers who got popular talking about lukareaves. like yes the nba can be kinda gay and yaoiful and thats awesome and fun to talk about!!! but other nba duos are more interesting and have had more gay moments and no one batted an eye. people just didnt care then because theyre not white. which is really fucking annoying!!!!!

i guess theres not anything wrong with lukareaves by itself, but its just really annoying that its invaded nba rpf/yaoi talks so much when: 1.) its not even that interesting compared to other nba ships, and 2.) the only reason why gained popularity over those other ships is because its two white guys.
