wearable technology is getting cooler!

Although what it does is less than awesome (vibrates when you get a text or important email), these rings look sick! If wearable technology looks this good, then I'm on board! But until the tech of these wearable devices actually does something useful, or does something that I would like to know (not just tell me how many steps I took, and if I'm sleeping...) then I fail to see the point in the wearable tech gimmick...its like answering a question that nobody asked.
