Wednesday 4th April: AllttA - Zebulon

I’m in love with this instrumental track from AllttA, a production duo that involves some fine musicians, including producer 20syl from French turntablists C2C and MR. J. MEDEIROS from Los Angeles based band Knives. The pair are in the midst of a single series named Facing Giants, from which a new track is revealed every Wednesday. Disarm (fg. VI) is their latest release, and I’m sure you recognized its inspiration from its opening chords straightaway. They’ve given a piano version of Bonnie Raitt’s infinitely romantic classic I Can’t Make You Love Me a gorgeously textured, brassy flaring hip hop and electronica cover re-work.
