A ceiling fan that spins but does not give any air
I did not even know this was possible!
But turns out if the "electrician" "fixes" the blades of the fan upside down, this is what happens.
Insects living in a sealed packet of lentils
3 days in a row I could a faint "tak tak tak" sound while I was in the kitchen. First I thought there were some roaches that came out of nowhere and I looked in every corner but found none.
Then I double checked. Still nothing. But the sound did not go away. So on day three I decide to put my ear close to wear the sound came from and what I saw was creepy as hell!
Some sorta fly civilization had begun living inside a SEALED packet of lentils I have had with me for a few months. {yep...I'm a meat loyalist.}
But....WTF!!
[Of course I did not take a picture....I dumped the packed immediately!]
Women's Day Gift
I'm not one to given in to Greeting Card Festivals. Women's Day included.
This year, I got a record number of 3 wishes from the many boys/men in my life and one chocolate bar. Pretty cute. I appreciate the gesture,
And now here is a Rahul Gandhi meme to celebrate the day.
Goa Sausage Pizza
Goa Sausages are God's way of telling us he loves us.
So when a friend I was dining with saw Goa Sausage Pizza scribbled on a specials board somewhere in the distance we knew the fate of our dinner had pretty much been sealed.
I'm surprised I remembered to take a picture.
Best when served hot [like all other pizzas in the universe].
Foot Wrap
No...I wasn't served a foot taco. But I did have my foot wrapped up in cling on. Not so that it could be served fresh for someone to devour but because I opted to indulge in a 'Diamond Pedicure' [another first btw]. It happened to be part of the 'procedure.'
I was so fascinated I took pictures [Duh!]
This behaviour made the ladies attending to me crack up.
The process...after my feet were slathered with generous amounts of hydrating [I assume] gel.
Ta daaa....
I tried walking a few steps with the wrap on but given the current state of my knee and the slippery nature of the gel wrap, I decided to sit back down and take a photo instead.
It's a wrap! :P
16 inch Pizza
It's funny, but the biggest pizzas available in India are 14 inches. They are restricted to an American chain and come at a heftyish price.
Here, in Bangalore, I stumbled upon a place that serves delicious thin crusted 16 inch pizzas that even happened to be pocket friendly.
#winwinwin
I predict I'm going to be a regular.
Doughnut for Breakfast
I let this saccharine evil be my breakfast on a Sunday.
Such is the kind of punishment I put myself through just because I was going for a movie at a mall. I HATE mall food.
I wonder if the bacon in my fridge was jumping with joy or just sad I did not come to say hello.
Quizzing in the midst of Alcohol
Where there is alcohol, there is fun. But being quizzed while under the influence seemed like an interesting way to spend a Thursday night.
Booze and Brains is what the quizzing event was called and was held at a popular venue in Bangalore called Opus.
This edition of Booze and Brains was a corporate edition. [A first for them.]
Rules:
Teams are made up of a maximum of 4 people. [Presumably from the same "corporate". We had one who 'did not belong.']
Each table is assigned a number and given 3 sets of papers [for the separate quiz categories.]
The questions are announced and projected on a wall
Write the answer with your table number and hand it over to the waiters in 10 seconds to qualify for a score
Prizes ranged from bottles of whiskey to food vouchers while the winners go home with 10k in cash.
Sounds simple. Only, before the quiz starts, copious amounts of alcohol is consumed. Even during the quiz people are drinking. So sometimes, the answers are real fun. And it pays to have a fun host who encourages such humour.
Also, there's dancing after every session. And some pretty awesome pole dancing...well...it was more like a pole dance-off [if there is such a thing] between 2 men....who I must say...."had the moves".
So heres how things progressed. When we entered...
And while the quiz was on...
This...because the dance floor was overflowing.
At the end of it all, we won nothing but had loads of fun. I don't mind doing this again. But next time, maybe with a bigger group, since "happiest table" was a category or rather an excuse to give away bottles of alcohol.
Magnum [ The Ice Cream...not the Beer]
While I was busy attending to my knee over the last few weeks, everyone suddenly seemed to be raving about this awesomesupercoolmusttryheavlyandgodly ice cream called Magnum.
Magnum....I had heard this name before....it was not the strong beer that Budweiser launched last year....but I had heard this name. And then it came to me, the attendant at the supermarket informed me about it a month ago. With a whole "Coming soon" / "Wait for it" tone.
Since sweets do nothing for my tingly senses, I bummed a bite from 2 generous souls at work.
The verdict: Good. Not worth the price [Rs.85]. Not superfantabulous.

Here's what I made.
Old School Money Affairs
My knee is still not healed so I am still hobbling around. It's the beginning of the month and it also happens to be tax season.
Since I get paid by cheque, I had to hobble to the bank and since I had to make some premium payments I had to hobble to another bank.
Suddenly, staying "walking distance" away from everything was not so much fun anymore.
Anyhooo.....I reached the bank and I had to make a cash deposit according to the "rules". What? How does one do this? I do all my banking online. So this was new.
I was pointed in the direction of a token machine. When I pressed a big red button that generated a paper token.
Number one hundred and fifty F*&^% one. Woohooo. What was the current number being called? 88. Yeah....I took a seat. Sulked. Ranted about it over Whatsapp. And then proceeded to play Subway Surfer.
When my number was finally called 45 minutes later, the entire transaction took me less than 30seconds.
Uggh.
I really should stop putting my patience to the test and just do it my "old fashioned" way - online.
Triangle Plate
The shape just makes it very inconvenient to use cutlery. I do not look forward to the next time I am served in one.
French Toast
Lesson: Go easy on the milk
First hand music
What better joy that to be gifted music from the people who made it.
While hanging out with a friend one night, I was introduced to Nathan. Who happened to be the bassist of an Indian rock band called Slain.
And by the end of a pretty fun night, I was given this.
Love the album art btw. Done by one of the other band members I was told. #win
