When you start taking care of yourself, you start feeling better, you start looking better, and in turn, you start attracting better. This is because everything starts from within you. Once you start taking care of yourself from within, everything else will begin to heal.
very ironic that the thing to motivate me to get back to working on this cozy winter scarf was the arrival of spring

What I was looking for: Both cover and blurb grabbed my attention. Especially since I had not seen many books taking on this phase in life: 28/29-year old just having finished university (with a PhD) and now having to find ones way in life.
What I liked: Since my circle of friends is also very diverse, I found Grace’s friends quite believable. And I liked that the story was realistic without being depressing – no miracle cure, not everything is solved at the end and people do and say “the wrong” thing every once in a while even towards people they love.
What I did not like: The middle part was a bit too long-winded, especially all the radio shows. It was basically interesting, just too much.
On the one hand I liked that there was no “evil” and no “good” parent but then again, I did not think either of the parents was very nice. Even Grace’s mother really angered me with her reaction to her daughters tearful call for help (“sure, come on over but remember not to hide from you problems and get back in the saddle right again” – way to support without putting more pressure on your daughter. Not.). And even with her friends, I would have like to see more support for her before they started apologising her father’s reaction.
Conclusion: A solid contemporary novel about coming of age and finding one’s way.

The diet industry wants your money and doesn’t care about your health.
Here are 10 examples of this to serve as reminders you can come back to.
10. It took two weeks for the industry to respond to a pandemic with the suggestion of immune boosting foods. This is not a thing.
9. Keto is Atkins, recycled.
8. Alkaline eating is not real. Nothing you eat will change your pH. This is good.
7. You cannot hack your health.
6. The only real appetite suppressant is food.
5. Clean eating is not real. Wash your hands. Wash your dishes. Clean.
4. There are zero health conditions that occur in only fat bodies. Zero.
3. Diet culture posits health as a choice. This is an untrue statement.
2. The diet industry is behind the wellness industry that unfairly suggests to humans that the side effects of being human can be mitigated with food. They cannot.
1. It garners $72 BILLION DOLLARS/year.
