three years ago my dad, the main breadwinner, was diagnosed with chronic fatigue (on top of it being an incredibly shit time to begin with, my granny was dying and her husbandhad severe alzheimer’s and was put into a home. to this day he still doesn’t know she’s gone.) so he had to quit his job, leaving my mum to earn all the money we needed. she had to increase her hours and struggle to keep going whilst my dad had to come to terms with the fact that at 49 he was homebound and wouldn’t be able to work again. and so my mum and dad decided to do something to make the best of the situation. and let me make this clear, THIS ISN’T A SOB STORY OR A WAY TO GET YOUR ATTENTION. this is real and i would even appreciate a mere reblog. SO. my mum started her own ethical fashion website to help with our financial situation due to my dad’s illness and inability to work. every evening when she gets home from work she is sourcing, photographing, editing designing the website, researching. she puts all her spare time into this, so me and my brother can have a good life, and go to the universities we want to. so, this really comes down to you. if you could reblog this, or look at the website or maybe even buy a little thing I WOULD BE FOREVER IN YOUR DEBT. I just want my parents to be happy and not worrying about if there’s not enough bread on the table.
i’m so bloody proud of how my mum and dad have handled this in the face of adversity.
