Hi Steve!  This may be a weird question, but "Do I need a lens to use a camera?

For the most part "YES" you typically do need a lens to use along with your camera... BUT a camera body can capture an image on its own without a lens, it will most likely be various shades of color depending on your light source & what colors are present within your subject. It is also very unlikely that you will have any kind of focus in the image taken without a lens, so it'll turn out blurry. Lenses are responsible for a cameras "focal length" which is what you see in "mm" on a lens. That enables you to focus on a subject & clarifies the image along with possibly giving you a range & diversity of framing depending on the type of lens you have on your camera. Hope that helps?
