Who wants to read StEx extremely slowly?
This blog is exactly what it says in the title. I’m going to be posting a transcript of the recently closed 2024 revival of Starlight Express, one line at a time! (I may post other versions of the show after this one.) But what counts as a “line”?
For our purposes, a line ends when a different character or group of characters begins speaking or singing! Basically, whenever you would see a new speaker tag in the script, that’s a new line. So some posts will only contain one word while others will the contain the entire lyrics to a song and then some. I’ll also consider a significant pause in dialogue to be the start of a new line. For example, when Control goes to bed and there’s a lengthy musical segment as the stage shifts, I consider what they say afterward to be a new line.
