The Blacksite seems barren.
The only recurring theme of life present appears to be the monstrous and mutated entities that roam the halls, but you are unsure if some of them are alive. Any simple organisms no longer exist down here. Perhaps the pressure was too much for them to withstand in the first place, or maybe they were all destroyed during the breach. You're unsure: they won't bother to tell you minute details like that.
Yet, you've found that your original assumption was wrong. Exploring the multiple levels and rooms has allowed you to see the tiny glimpses of life still thriving here. The occasional potted plant—albeit wilting fairly quickly—stands alive in tiny rooms tucked away from most entities' eyes. Little chunks of coral float within the underground areas, likely broken off from the main body by the bull shark outside the windows. Tiny aquatic grasses, easily trampled on as you weave yourself out of a Searchlight's bright gaze.
You've wandered through the Blacksite many times, over and over again, with nothing new to see besides these little plants. They are the only unpredictable sight. The lights flicker to warn you of an Angler—but there are no warning signs of a simple plant. Squiddles make a gradual screeching noise as a warning—but there are no warning signs of a little flower. Perhaps that is why they are so beautiful down here: because you expect a monster, not a simple pot of grass.
However, no other beings here seem to hold the same sentiments as you. Most of them are mindless and have their minds set entirely on consuming. The only intelligent ones you can name right now seem uninterested, too. The bull shark with thousands of eyes littered in and outside themself? It seems they cannot see the plant's beauty even with their many eyes. The red face that warns you as they rush through and destroy the halls? Well, with how they mangle things in their path, you're not entirely sure if they care that much for them. The Painter?
. . . Well, the Painter probably likes flowers. But they cannot exactly interact with them.
Water trickled down your hand and dripped on the floor. You cradled a small fragment of blue coral in your palm. It had a rougher texture due to the little dips and bumps on its surface. The coral felt like nothing yet heavy at the same time as it rested in your hand. Its muted blue color looked even duller the more you looked at it.
It almost looked greenish, too.
The color reminded you of SEBASTIAN.
You forgot about him and his opinion on flowers. He seemed more uncaring and disinterested in small things, so you figured he probably wouldn't care for them. Yet, you knew he was once human. There must be a chance he may enjoy them.
You hadn't realized you pocketed the coral until your suit's legs were well-drenched.
Upon presenting the messy bouquet to Sebastian, he responded with a taunting voice, "Is this for me? You really shouldn't have." He carefully examined the bouquet under his esca, observing the colorful coral chunks and slightly wilted plants. He appreciated how the colors complimented him.
Sebastian quietly hummed as he inspected the gift further, using his claw with surprising gentleness to brush through and examine everything you'd collected. It was evident from his growing smirk and visible canines that he appreciated the gesture if only a bit. "Why, thank you, friend," he said, before placing the bouquet on his desk.
With a taunting tone, he mused, "Don't tell me you went out of your way to get this just for me, now." Sebastian paused and directed his gaze back to you. "You know, I'm sure I could bargain a good price for this with the other Expendables."
You couldn't tell if he was serious, at least not until you looked at how his tail swayed like a happy dog's. Or how his ears twitched when your smile grew. Or how his voice softened ever so slightly as you eventually left.
Unsurprisingly, the bouquet was still there on your next visit, neatly placed in the best glass Sebastian could find. It rested nearby him, neatly positioned to make it look fuller and beautiful. Of course, he wouldn't sell it. For as much as he teased you, he could not deny the fondness he felt when he looked at it.
Perhaps one day, you'd take the bouquet place and be right next to him yourself.
He cursed himself as his ears and tail twitched at the thought.

although, i do think sebastian would rarely, if not ever, be genuinely mean to his lover. there is a difference between his teasing and his actual insults. i mean, you're.. a bit dumb yet cute in his eyes, so can you really blame him for poking harmless fun from time to time?
but, of course, he can be nice. he'll try to even out so he can have his fun, but you won't be too upset.
with that being said, if you seriously tell him to stop his teasing.. he might tease a bit more, before realizing you're serious. sebastian will try to take it down a nob from there.
so.. in the end, you might end up 75% nice, 25% mean after all.

SEBASTIAN's shop is probably one of the safest areas in the Blacksite. No entities can get in—besides Sebastian himself, of course. That doesn't stop entities from coming right outside the shop, though.
After being here for so long, having countless anglers rush past you, that a flight or fight response triggers for you when the lights flicker all around. Sebastian seems to not react, besides a light grumble under his breath. He finally found a good area with lights, and now they were going to break. His esca could only light up so much.
You, however, had a much different reaction. Unfortunately, you've learned to instinctively flee and hide at the tiniest flicker. It helped you not die, so it simply stuck with you.
There were no lockers in Sebastian's shop, so you couldn't hide there. There also was no vent, since you had gotten him in an underwater area. The only other way to hide was to completely shield yourself from it's view.. and there was only one thing in the shop big enough to conceal your whole body.
Sebastian tensed as you quickly hid behind his tail, practically using him as a shield. He blinked, a bit confused: didn't you know that Anglers couldn't enter his shop? Maybe you really were a bit dumb.. He thought about telling you off, but it was also a bit funny to see you crouching behind him like a scared rabbit.
Sebastian huffed as he saw how shaky you were, and moved his tail to loosely wrap around you and help you feel more hidden. As quickly as you huddled behind him, the muffled noise of an Angler's scream rang out from below. He only hummed: the lights in his shop didn't end up breaking, how nice.
You stayed hidden for a few more seconds before perking up, your head popping out from the makeshift cocoon. Sebastian silently stared at you for a few moments before speaking, "You do know that Anglers can't get in my shop.. right?" He teased you, making you pause in embarrassment.
After a few seconds of just staring at each other, you tried to pry yourself off of his tail, but Sebastian wouldn't let you. He tightened his tail's coil around you. "No, no, it doesn't work like that," Sebastian commented, "I protected you, right? How kind of me. And how rude of you to try leaving before you even return the favor."
May I request for a doomed found family Sebastian & teen!reader :]…like the reader got oofed by one of them entities and Sebastian found them on the ground, dead.

Both of you were sentenced to death before you even reached 21. Both of you were sentenced to die in prison before you could even live your adult lives. Both of you would never be able to experience life normally.
And that's why he liked you.
You were like a reflection of him.
The kid he never even had yet was next to him anyway.
Down in this filthy facility, you sat with him. Talked with him. As if the two of you were real family.
And in a way, you were. Maybe not by blood, but you two were the only ones who understood each other.
And despite his inhuman appearance, you never faltered in his sight. Never showed any fear.
Maybe that's why you were too comfortable and ended up getting yourself hurt. As soon as he heard your scream nearby, Sebastian dropped everything, and rushed over as quickly as he could.
Yet, with his tail dragging on the ground, he was no match for the speed of an angler. And as his tail hit the floor, your blood did too.
His claws scrambled to get a medkit from his tail, but he knew there was nothing a measly bandage could do for you now. If you even were still alive. As that thought crossed his mind, Sebastian scooped you up into his arms, cradling you close to him. Your heart was slow. Too slow. His breath hitched, eyes widening as he hugged you tighter. Your blood splattered onto his clothes.
He didn't even know if he could cry anymore, but he wanted to sob. For the first time since his experimentation, he felt unbearable anguish. His chest hurt, as if it had been him stabbed instead of you. As if he was bleeding out, instead of you.
And Sebastian wished it was him instead of you.
Sebastian lost himself a long time ago. He wasn't sure if he could bear losing you, too. Not when you were the one thing that made life down here enjoyable. Not when you were his reason for living.
Not when you were everything to him.
He curled into himself, wrapping his whole body around you as if that would somehow protect you. Yet, how could he protect you when he could not even arrive in time? When he let you leave? When he could feel your heart stop? He buried his head into your hair, your beautiful, beautiful hair—
