I was thinking what a Matryoshka doll would look like if she had no family, no children, or was infertile. And then my pen ran out of ink and I made the same face.
New pens, new sketchbook, new Main+Local Montreal pencil case, and a gift card to an art store for Xmas = lost in doodling.
A Dream of Her.
my kitchen table is a delicious mess:
raspberry tea
smutty book
post-it notes
all of the pens (all of the dead)
naked man sketch
Some Candy Talking
The One I Call I am still playing around with watercolors and discovering what I am comfortable with. Meaning, how to use watercolors without wanting to punch someone in the face or set something on fire. So, I was listening to this song by Lou Barlow called The One I Call and painted the first few lines. It's not that great...and it is fairly immature...but for some reason, this makes me feel happy whenever I look at it. Maybe it's the watering can.

"Om nom nom" - a work doodle
I draw, I illustrate, I write, and I do it with honesty. I appreciate every kind and encouraging word. The invitations to participate in exhibits amaze me and I am grateful. That being said, this bears repeating : ~ Because some illustrations are of a sexual nature, this is NOT an invitation for...
It's truly sad that I have to re-blog this. A reminder, guys - don't be a creep to women artists. Don't be a creep to women. Period.
Drop art - not bombs! September 2nd is World Art Drop Day! To quote the artist, Jake Parker, who started this beautiful idea, "we need to feel a little more connection to each other and there's nothing like the bond two random strangers can make through the act of creating and giving."
Of course, I art dropped and then it started pouring rain. Double bagged and under some rocks, you can find a print of one of my favourite and most personal pieces. It can be found at the feet of the strongman of St-Henri, Montreal. Let's hope it is not soaked!
A very thorough Leonard Cohen fan website posted my Leonard Cohen Post-It Note doodle.
tigre - a quick doodle that i would like to explore in greater and different detail in the future. and some silly photo manipulation.
A little time-lapse of some sketching.
I normally don't reblog from my Sticky Notes site but I'm all about supporting my artist friends. Also, it is a time lapse of a sketch of my face (old hair style, I must note!).
I tried watercolours for the first time last night. This was my second attempt - a take on a previous ink illustration. I added ink to this to see what would happened. I probably shouldn't have but trial and error, am I right?! Watercolours are a difficult medium but practise makes perfect, so they say!

"Excels at building the confidence of men who are commitment phobes so they have fall in love with the next girl after me."
Still accurate.
