Watercolors Day 2 It was suggested to me by an amazing artist friend of mine, that I could sketch with watercolor pencils instead of regular pencils. She is a genius, and even if my sketching is terrible, at least there are no pencil lines. My mantra as I was sketching these flowers was: it doesn't have to be perfect. It just has to exist. And well...It exists. I am using tube paints and I don't like them. I think they are rather old, and I am very confused about how to use them. Whatever I'm doing I feel like I'm doing it wrong. I tried to do some different techniques, like shading, glazing, and wet on wet. And while it's not perfect. It exists. Lessons Learned: Tube paints are intimidating. My brushes shed sometimes. It doesn't have to be perfect; it just has to exist.
