THE PLACES I HAD PLANNED TO GO? ©
masxcrâ:
SHE LEANS CLOSER, a light grin plays on her lips as missy looks clara right in the eye. â are we playing with fire now? â it doesnât get her offended, not at all, she just doesnât really listen to what humans talk about. pay attention to these petty things they say? oh, please! â so, now youâre the one who knows him best in all the universe? âÂ
âYes.â Whether she truly believed that or not was up for debate, but that was besides the point. She met Missyâs gaze firmly for a few moments, before giving in and looking away. âWhat are you even doing here, Missy?â
itsjustkindâ:
Of course she hadnât, because he hadnât slept for weeks. He was starting to find that there wasnât very much he could hide from her. She was always catching him tinkering with things he shouldnât be, and she seemed to be able to read him like a book when he was trying to be mysterious and masked. And now sheâd picked up on the fact that he hadnât been sleeping.Â
âDonât need to,â he lied right back. âIâm a Time Lord, Clara â we have very little need for frequent sleep.âÂ
Though, truth be told, he was starting to feel the tug of sleep more and more the longer he stayed here. Claraâs hand was still in his hair, and he found that he wanted to shut his eyes and relax.
âYouâre a human. Humans need lots of sleep, unfortunately. You should go to sleep. Itâs a time machine, we have all the time in the universe.âÂ
She wasnât sure if she believed that. Sometimes, it seemed like the answer to every uncomfortable question was âIâm a Time Lord, Claraâ. She wondered what it would take for him to be honest with her about these things, but figured that was probably hypocritical of her. How could she expect him to tell her the truth if she was just lying right back to him?
âI told you, Iâm fine.â She insisted instead, shifting to make herself more comfortable. ââsides, if I fell asleep youâd loose your audience, and we canât have that.â
ultimatcgingcâ:
âIâM NOT THE DOCTOR EITHER.â amy sighed. âif only travelling with him could make us a little bit more like him, that would be great.â if the situation wasnât that serious, amy would probably laugh at her own joke. âbut thereâs got to be another way. like, i dunno, some secret weapon? or travelling back in time?â she rubbed her forehead, trying to come up with a better solution.
âah, i always thought my death would be more glorious than being simply erased from the existence.â a shiver ran through her when she remembered it was exactly what happened to rory once. âusually the doctor comes up with the best ideas when he has no time left. so maybe that will happen to us too.â she looked around; the whole place was so silent. the calm before the storm, she thought. maybe even too silent.
âare you sure these metallic aliens are coming? like⊠i canât hear them anymore. but why they changed their minds out of sudden? that doesnât make any sense.â
That was a point, wasnât it? What a horrible situation to be in. Too much like the Doctor to be able to stay with him, but still too different to be able to save the day. No, no. There was no point in thinking like that. Amy was right, there had to be something. If they just... thought for long enough.
At Amyâs words, Clara paused and frowned. It was silent. That was odd. Cybermen... werenât exactly known for being the most stealthy. Had they lost them somehow? That seemed unlikely.
Clara took a step back. âMaybe weâre not significant enough for them to worry about? Or maybe they have a different plan? Or...â She felt a chill run through her. â...or maybe weâve walked right into a trap.â
intoaromanâ:
RORY ENTERED THE DINER SMILING A BIT AWKWARDLY. â ANYTHING WILL DO, REALLY. â well, anything was better than amyâs cooking. he loved her so much, but not her meals ⊠he sat at the bar & cleared his throat. â IS THIS SOME KIND OF POP-UP DINER ? THIS IS A NEW TREND, ISNâT IT ? â but then when he turned around, he realised that the place looked familiar, too familiar even. â THIS MIGHT SOUND WEIRD BUT I SWEAR I WAS HERE BEFORE ⊠â
âAnythingâ. Bit of a bold order. She considered, for a moment, that she could do something truly chaotic with an order like that, but quickly set that thought aside. Itâd be better to just stick to something that anyone would be happy with. So with that in mind, she put on the kettle.
âHm?â She looked back over at her customer, âYou know, we get that a lot. I reckon themed diners just look the same to most people.â
[ oof sorry ive been mia lately, iâve been having a super bad time mentally, but i want to get back to rpâing here so im gonna get to replies now! thank you all for being so patient with me^^ ]

but god i was just thinking. can u imagine how awkward it mustve been for testimony!clara when she was first brought in like
after a super long afterlife she finally decides thats it, sheâs done, sheâs ready to return to trap street. knowing clara she probably did some dramatic stuff to prepare & all that. then sheâs on the street again. and like. not even a fraction of a second later suddenly sheâs ???? not there again ????
sheâd probably just be like âOkay I Swear To God If This Is You Again Doctorâ ]
[ wait sorry not to rb my own post but god imagine how much worse it must be for danny and like, the entirety of humanity that missy grabbed??
assuming testimony could still grab âem too imagine just going from one shitty afterlife to one that would probably seem very similar on the surface
though this is assuming testimony would be able to get the post-nethersphere versions of people & not the pre-nethersphere versions. kinda iffy on where theyâd duplicate their memories from B/ ]

AUâ The Adventures of Clara and Rory
SYNOPSISÂ â Claraâs venture into the dating world prove fruitless. Sheâs had the last straw with the lastest blind setup. Roryâs just along for the ride.

â OH, NO, NO, NO, DONâT TALK LIKE THAT.  â missy shakes her head and frowns. â donât talk like you know me; believe me, dear, ââ you donât. â she can feel jealous when it comes to the doctor and his companions ( his enemies as well ) that is true, but no one can tell her about what she feels. how dare! however, missy could forgive it ââ all these poor human beings, they always think they know everything about everyone, they always think they are smarter than they really are. â happy. â she repeats with a chuckle, gaze drawn to clara. â youâre more like that background noise you people like to have not to feel that lonely Iâd say. â
I wouldnât want to know you, Clara thought, but chose to keep those words to herself. She didnât want to rock the boat here too much. She was never sure of what would push Missy over the edge. Instead she just rolled her eyes and retorted, âIf you really think that, then you donât know him.â ... So much for not wanting to rock the boat.
blondechav:
heard of her?  â âŠsomething like that, YEAH. â sheâs less curious now &. more suspicious, completely abandoning her search to size up the woman who was currently claiming to be the doctor.
sure, she could have been telling the truth. she clearly had the know-how â that calm under pressure that said everything would be OKAY but also that they were in charge &. that was THAT. still, there was just somethingâŠoff about the way the woman handled herself because of roseâs question. like she knew she was supposed to know her but didnât have the memories to actually place her like she should.
soâŠpretending to be the doctor, then? only one way to FIND OUT.
â so if you are the doctor, how old are you then, exactly? â rose had a hunch the woman would have a VERY un-doctor like response to that.
Clearly, Clara had made a false move. Whoever this girl was, she was probably close to the Doctor. A friend, then. She felt a spark of guilt rise up as she realised sheâd essentially implied that the Doctor had forgotten her- knowing how that truth could hurt, she didnât want anyone else to have to go through that, regardless of whether it was a lie or not.
But... in this situation, she wasnât sure how good of an idea it would be to own up to having lied. Theyâd have to trust each other and work together to get out. She couldnât expect the other to trust someone whoâd lied to her face.
So with a confident smile, Clara replied, âAh, I lost count. You have no idea how difficult it is remembering when youâre as old as I am- and how, exactly, do you expect a time traveller to be able to celebrate a birthday? Usually I just pluck a random number out of the air and hope it sticks, so letâs say... 1342.â
Maybe that wasnât the most convincing answer she couldâve come up with.
itsjustkind:
The Doctor didnât often slow down either. He and Clara were so alike in that sense; if they werenât running from something trying to destroy them, they were running separately from issues they didnât want to discuss or think about. But this was a little different for them. The Doctor had slowed down to sit with Clara before, even allowing the occasional night in, but they very rarely laid down together and enjoyed the quietness.Â
âAs long as youâre allowed? I doubt that â couldnât get rid of you even if I wanted to. Which I donât.â
Her hand in his hair was a surprise, albeit a nice one. The Doctor closed his eyes. After a moment, he began to relax, hold on himself and his gruff exterior slipping. A hint of a smile warmed his face.Â
âYouâre tired.â It wasnât a question â he could tell by her voice, which he could read better than he could read her face. âYou should rest more, I think.â
She laughed quietly- yeah, that was fair, wasnât it? She was a stubborn one, and by this point, there wasnât much that could get between them. Not much that sheâd let get between them. Daleks, Cybermen, Missy- she wouldnât let any of them take his hand away from hers.
Deep down, Clara knew that one day something would separate them. There was no such thing as âforeverâ, especially when one of them was quasi-immortal, but she didnât want to think about that.
( at least, the fact that sheâd be the one to leave, not him, was comforting )
âNah, Iâm fine.â A lie, but when she did sleep, she wasnât going to do it around him. âWhat about you? Donât think Iâve seen you sleep for- what? Weeks, at least.â
8. + 9.!
( @intoaroman | meme )
8. do you follow canon, or dump it in the trash?
depends on the muse! but for clara, i follow it & build upon it! i consider all of the tv show, comics, short stories & novels canon, and i love how claraâs characterised in them! i donât think sheâs sold short in any of them, though i do think fandom at large often misunderstands and misinterprets her!
9. best scene featuring your muse?
oh clara has so many good scenes! iâm just going to use this as a chance to infodump my favourite scenes with her!
in blood and ice, her entire characterisation is great, especially all of her scenes with winnie, but my favourite from that is when winnie has betrayed clara & the doctor, and clara continues to believe that winnie will turn out to be good, and that sheâll sacrifice herself for the doctor ( i donât remember the exact quote but thereâs an exchange between the dr & clara that goes a bit like: âsheâs being asked to choose between me or herself, can you blame her for that?â âyes.â which. god itâs not a good mentality but i could go off for days just based on that exchange )
thereâs another scene in- god i donât remember the name of the short story, but itâs the one with 11 & clara- & throughout claraâs been bitter about what happened on trenzalore & anyway, the big bad has been using the skeletons of those who crash land on the planet as part of the security system, and clara notices that one of the skeletonâs is a childs, and she has a moment of complete fury based on her role as a protector and caretaker of so many children throughout all of her echoes lives, and as the skeletons come to attack clara & the doctor, she steps forwards and hugs the child one & just. god. i love that so much ( that short story in general is so good i need to re-read it )
as for the tv show itself, the beginning of dark water is a great scene, love that unstable mess. the entirety of flatline is also amazing. so is the ending of mummy on the orient express, her showdown with bonnie in the zygon invasion, and god just pretty much any time sheâs on screen in season 9 to be quite honest
but to narrow it down to just one scene, my favourite with her is when she pleads with the time lords to save the doctor. that scene is extremely important to me for personal reasons. as a trans person myself, iâve always seen the doctorâs ~real~ name as his dead name, so seeing clara affirm that the doctor is his real name, the only name he needs, is very important to me!
oh god i totally went off
@stillheart
â LOOK AT YOU! long time no see! is the eyebrows here with you? â missy makes herself change her features in joy to show how happy she is to meet clara. still playing, she leans in closer to whisper: â donât want him to stop me this time. â with a wink, the time lady smiles, but then something changes and it makes her purse her lips in fake pity. â it canât be! has he found anyone else to replace you? â
Ah, what a complicated mix of emotions this woman stirred. Fear, rage, and a tiny little fraction of endearment, though sheâd rather die than admit to that last one. Forcing her inner whirlwind down, Clara crossed her arms and put out a faux-calm attitude. âBy now? Iâd hope so. Unlike you, I actually enjoy it when others can make my supposed best friend happy.â
