I actually saw this dress in person when it came through my local art museum as part of a Muppets retrospective on Jim Henson.
It's even more amazing in person let me see if I can find pictures....
You can totally see that she was probably sewn into this dress. And that there is a really subtle pattern on the arms.
I also have pictures of Jareth's costume because they were in the same display, but because of glare they didn't turn out very well.
Honestly this was one of the highlights of the exhibition for me.
