BOY MEETS WORLD | 4.17, "A Long Walk to Pittsburgh: Part 2"
word vomit inspired by christina applegate's memoir
how does the cycle go on for so long? you get trapped, they use guilt to control you, they rewire your sense of normalcy. they turn you against the others, you're overreacting. the others turn against you, you have no self respect. it's your fault, you deserve it, you did this to yourself. you stop talking about it because all you get is judgement, you stop questioning because there is no other answer, you have no one to ask "is this normal?"

some people literally do not want to be loved. self fulfilling prophecy is real. people are not dogs
love is not love without empathy.
when someone loves you, they naturally care about the things that are important to you, like your family, your interests. without that, they don't love you, they just want something you give them.
"letting go" of trauma isn't a moment. it's like a rearview mirror
loneliness is not external and people who don't understand that will always feel lonely no matter the crowd
if someone didn't let you be yourself, with your own needs and feelings, how could they love you? and if someone was manipulating you with a fake version of themselves, how could you love them? did either of you even know each other?
Nick Alm (Swedish b.1985), Victoria's Window, 2025, Oil on canvas
