(I did it, finally wrote a stony fic after 2 years of not writing aaaa i am kinda freaking out but here it is)

Three years, three years ago, Dr. Tony Stark lost everything that he ever dreamed, everything that he ever hoped for. Now a shell of a man that he was before, he takes another job in the same place that stripped him of his dignity and his degree. He had a plan, do what is legally allowed of him to do and not put his nose in places it didn't belong to. But everything changed when he met the blue-eyed stranger who felt more familiar than home itself.

I fear I might have just cooked with the idea I suddenly had for Steve and Tony

So hear me out,

Tony has always seen how fractured his parents relationship has been and how hurt and quiet her mother is always. His father although not inherently bad had lost himself after an experiment went bad (hint: its the Project Rebirth, so basically the world never had Captain America) and he just can't see his mother like this anymore so being an engineer he likes to fix things so he makes a time machine to go back in time and find his mother, prevent her from getting married (inherently end his existence) and maybe see what this hyped up Project Rebirth is all about. He goes back in time during the war (Bucky has still not gone for the war as a soldier yet) and finds Steve Rogers, timid, young but incredibly fierce and suddenly he doesn't want to go back.

He meets his mother who's in a relationship with Howard and she's happy and he tries to break them off but it doesn't work so Tony's like fine I'll fix the serum, I'll make the Project Rebirth a success.

So Tony infiltrates the SSR as a brilliant consultant and Howard Stark is actually interested in him. Howard isn't the cold blooded father he grew up with, he had passion, ideas and they shared half of the same DNAs and they worked together quite well and the shortcomings that he had always seen in the serum and the vita rays, he puts them forward and this serum is almost perfect and Tony is sure that it will work. It works and he doesn't want to leave, he is a scientist he wants to see how the serum works on a normal human being and decides it's fine to stay a little longer)

We then follow the timeline of Captain America: The First Avenger and Tony Carbonell (is the Peggy Carter of this universe)

Steve crashes the Valkyrie, and Tony goes back to his timeline thinking Steve is dead. He doesn't know Steve will survive, we go with the official timeline of Iron Man (part 1 and then 2 minus the romance between Pepper and Tony)

Things are bad but life is moving on until he gets to know Steve is alive and meets him on the Helicarrier.

big fan of the idea that Stark Industries starts selling basic household appliances once the weapons manufacturing gets dropped. SI toaster. SI curling iron.

But with this idea I also need there to be a “stark industries households” youtube channel that is, technically, an official SI channel. But it’s not in the slightest used for marketing or anything of the sort. Tony is the only one with the password and every video uploaded is tony going through how to use that machine.

Someone can’t figure out how to empty their damn fancy vacuum and they look up the model on youtube to figure it out, and are greeted by the CEO of the company doing a WILDLY informal tutorial on how to use it and common issues and such.

The videos are often shot by DUM-E or U. Tony often looks very disheveled, and sometimes there’s unrevealed projects just sitting out in the background. Tony acts like he’s talking to an audience of five people and usually there’s five or six videos uploaded back to back, CLEARLY shot in one sitting.

(Tony likes doing them because it’s a very simple way to ease the “Tony stark dead at ___” headlines without doing a damn press conference. The videos also make people a bit less intimidated by him, and he rarely gets to interact with his creations in an authentic way with an audience.)

WELCOME TO CAP-IM BINGO 2026!

Get ready, bingo players — it's time for a new round of Cap-IM Bingo!

THE GOAL

Fill prompts to complete a line (row, column, or diagonal). Feeling adventurous? Try for a blackout (fill every prompt on your card).

Fills must be previously unpublished and created specifically for your bingo card, but you can combine bingo prompts with other challenges, as long as these challenges allow it.

All fills must focus on Steve and Tony’s relationship, be it romantic or platonic. A fill may only count toward ONE square/prompt, unless you’re doing the Bingo in One challenge (more about it later). You may use one prompt for each chapter of your fic (or each page of your comic).

OPTIONAL PROMPTS

NSFW, Dark, AU, Picture, Writing Format, Art Format and Podfic Format prompts are optional! You can choose to include them in your card when you fill out the sign up form. (Note that you may still create those contents even if you don’t include them in your card.) Please note that we will ask you to state you are at least 18 years old in case you pick NSFW prompts.

How you interpret the prompt is up to you, but it needs to be featured in your work. Contact us if you need clarification on any of your prompts. For image prompts, you are not required to stick to the same format or universe (for example, if your picture prompt is a 616 panel, you don’t have to do a 616 fill.) The free space in the middle is your wild card. You may create anything you want for it, as long as it’s Steve/Tony!

Podficcers, please remember we have a list of podfic-friendly Steve/Tony writers in the fandom, so you can easily find things to podfic if you don’t want to read your own work. You can also check creators' profiles for transformative statements.

To avoid giving you prompts you absolutely don't want to create for, we're asking for a list of "Do Not Wants" when you fill out the form. If you still receive a card that you can't work with, you are allowed to email us back asking for a redraw. You can only redraw once per round and you will receive a completely new card. After that you will only be able to ask for a new card once you have completed a blackout or when a new round starts.

SCHEDULE

The Cap-IM Bingo will run from March to November and have just one round per year. That means you have 9 months to finish your card and get your badges!

February 1st: Sign ups open

March 1st: All cards are sent out

April 1st: Late sign ups open

November 30th: Last day to post your fills

December/January: Badges are sent out

Every 1st day of the month we will post a list of 15 adoptable prompts. You may pick a prompt from the list and use it to replace one of your squares. You may only adopt ONE prompt a month and it can't be a prompt you already have on your card, so choose wisely! You’ll be able to replace 9 squares this way!

LATE SIGN UPS

If you missed the sign up period, don’t worry, you can still get a card starting on April 1st! It’ll be a pre-made card and it won’t have any of our opt-in prompts, but those will still appear in our Adoptables list every month and you may still use them. To get a pre-made card, simply email us at [email protected] and let us know what username you want on your card!

Participation: Fill at least one square on your card.

Bingo: Complete a line (row, column, or diagonal) on your card.

Blackout: Fill every square on your card.

Bingo in One: Get a bingo by picking a line (row, column, or diagonal) and including all 5 prompts from that line in just one work. You may only do this ONCE per card.

Make sure to claim your badge by filling out the Badge Claim form before December 15th! But don’t worry, we will post a reminder at the end of the round. If you get a blackout way before the end of the round, you may request a new card by checking that option on the Badge Claim form. Please note that you can only get each badge ONCE.

POSTING FILLS

Fills can be anything (fic, art, podfic, fanvid, manip, moodboard, crafts, poetry, etc), and can be posted wherever you like, but you must show that they are prompt fills for the Cap-IM Bingo (e.g. an author's note or a tag). We encourage (but do not require) you to post your fills to our AO3 collection, share your fic in the #bingo channel in our Discord Server, and/or mention @cap-ironman on Tumblr or Bluesky! Okay so i have an idea for stevetony what if Tony was there in the 40s with Steve and Tony was killed because of Steve's enemies? And then he is reincarnated in the 2000s and Steve is still alive because he has super soldier serum and he meets Tony and he remembers everything and he tries to stay away from Tony because he doesn't want to hurt Tony again but fate has other plans. Tony remembers parts and pieces of his previous life usually as dreams or nightmares.

A wip I'm working on where post ultron Tony wakes up in a universe where Steve and Tony are married.

Wait, did Tony's ear also stopped malfunctioning along with the fucking head injury? What did the doctor even mean with ‘your husband’? Your husband as in Tony fucking Stark was Steve Rogers, Captain America, the nation’s good boy's husband? What in Jesus's name was this even? Steve was married, yes he was, and to none other than Tony? Has Tony finally gone mad and conjured up a fucking universe where someone as perfect as Steve could falll in love with someone like Tony?

Steve looked horrified on the admission but maybe Tony looked even worse because the very next second Steve was near him, holding his left hand, rubbing his thumb in circular motion to soothe the shocked genius.

“Hey, it's fine. Don't sweat it sweetheart, I am sure you'll remember everything soon enough. I will make you remember it.” A look of determination came on Steve's face, the same look that Captain America sported before jumping off a fucking plane as he continued. “Well we'll make sure you remember it. Right J.A.R.V.I.S.?” And fuck if this universe wasn't perfect till now it became even more perfect.

“J.A.R.V.I.S?” Tony said pleading to no one hoping to hear the British accent when he heard, “Sir, it's good to see you well again.” And fucking hell, if this was a dream, Tony never wanted to wake up.

It's said that when celebrating birthdays, one should always wish for three things. The first two should be said loudly because those are the things that'd indeed be delightful if come true, but if untrue they won't hurt a lot. But the third wish, the third wish should be said very quietly because even though people believe it's to make sure they do come true, in reality it was to avoid the disappointment that one would face lest they don't.

That's why Tony, in his third wish, hoped to see Steve once again.
