this is obviously fucking fake i cant believe you guys are really that bitter about ign pointing out hoenn has too manywater routes

while ign certainly has many/most of the problems with modern games journalism, and the 7.8 for what i could tell was a mostly positive review came out of no where, water/caves is such an awful part of pokemon games that has not been changed mechanically SINCE GEN 1. (Same maze like structure, same 100% encounter areas, same long nature, same over abundance of trainers, same type distribution of pokemon) Pokemon is great but certainly not perfect and THINGS NEED TO BE CHANGED. The cave systems and surfing areas are literally only the same because of tradition, and when people freak out about stuff like this, you’re only making sure that these mechanics stay, when by god, they need to be changed.
