Hi! Just saw your post about the new Namesake cover, would you explain what’s up with using red and blue pencil?

@sunlit-sonata For sure! I draw everything on paper and then color it digitally. I use col-erase pencils - which is basically just color pencils you can erase - to sketch the art, and then I ink on top. Then I scan it, and remove the colors using the black and white function in Photoshop. After that, I have clean inkwork to color (digitally).

I'm not sure where I picked those up for the first time. Apparently they are commonly used in paper animation, a well-meaning soul must have handed me one at some point in my teen years.

Usually I use the warm color (red or pink) for the form, and then the cold colors for detail work. I'm so used to using color for sketches that I do it on digital projects now too.

Kanto: this path is blocked by a giant sleeping snorlax. you cannot wake up the snorlax except with the use of a very specific tool (which you obtained by fighting your way through a tower full of ghosts). and even after snorlax wakes up you have to either defeat it in battle and/or catch it before you can get through

Galar: could I wake these wooloo? physically, yes, probably wouldn’t be much of a challenge. but emotionally? imagine the toll
