Now I have a couple new films on the must see list.
It’s pretty simple even if we don’t want to acknowledge it: movies are pretty much set up all the same and a hero’s journey roughly follows a pretty universal 12-step process. Or at least that’s what Iskander Krayenbosch thinks in his animation The Hero’s Journey. He deftly utilizes characters from popular movies to prove his point for each step.

Some older fictional characters turn up again and again and again: Count Dracula and his foes, Victor Frankenstein, Dorothy Gale and the denizens of Oz. But Western literature's public domain is filled with excellent characters, many who deserve a bit more limelight.
