Beloved Whump Prompt #89
"You see, here's the thing, Caretaker. I get to do whatever I want with my plaything. You've got no say here. I own them."
Whumpee begging āplease donāt touch meā over and over, not because they thought it would make Whumper stop, but so they would know that they said it, that no one could argue that it was their idea, or that they wanted it.
Whumpees shock when Caretaker listens. Listens the first time, stops before theyād even finished their sentence.
Whumper who initiates casual conversation with Whumpee like they're a roommate, after just having tortured them for 46 minutes straight
A Whumpee who's difficult.
Not to Whumper- but to Caretaker.
When they first came back, they were quiet, afraid, excessively grateful. They'd apologize for everything. Caretaker knew what to do then. They were gentle and always kept them from talking bad about themselves.
Whumpee starts to get comfortable and decides to start pushing back. What happens when they disagree? Can they disagree? Maybe it's not even conscious, but suddenly being told what to do starts to bother them.
Caretaker and Whumpee start to bicker. Stupid arguments. Caretaker's frustrated: what happened? They used to get along so well before...
What happens when Caretaker comes to the sickening realization that they might have preferred Whumpee when they were scared?
Whumpers who make sudden, threatening movements on purpose just to see Whumpee flinch.
Even better if Whumper lets out a chuckle at how easy it is to get a reaction out of their victim. Just goes to show how much power they truly have over Whumpee.

oh you like this character too? okay before we chat about the character, Iām gonna need to know if you āare normal about the character and donāt want bad things to happen to themā or if you āare not normal about the character and want them to be brutally violated in explicit detailsā first. sorry just want to make sure so I donāt end up traumatizing you for life
whumpee who would do anything for the slightest scrapes of kindness. they don't mind being starved for days if they'll get to spend an hour with their favourite person in turn. they don't mind being beaten black and bloody if someone will whisper "you didn't deserve that," afterwardsā even if they know it is completely untrue. they did deserve that, but just the sentiment has their eyes watering with tears of gratitude. they don't mind sleeping on cold, hard floors for weeks on end if they'll get cuddlesā someone carding their fingers through their hair, petting them oh-so-gently.
they'll do anything, anything at allā because something is still better than nothing.
when an already injured character gets tossed like a ragdoll into their buddy by some violent force/explosion/magic/collision (pick your poison) and they both go down hard. the shredded and bruised elbows and knees donāt matter, nothing else matters because they have their friend backā¦ except their friend hasnāt moved or talked or made a sound, limp in their arms. so they roll them over in their lap and sure enough theyāre passed the fuck out. hey. no, no, no, no. the pleading spills out of them as their hands scurry over the slack planes of their friendās face, but no matter how much they shake them, or call their name, they remain ashen and bloody, their breathing shaky and stuttering, there but barely, dead to the world for now. stay with me. they pull them close. please stay with me.

so much to chew on w how joint suffering Makes People after they get out of it. this is especially juicy to me if your characters were introduced to each other as a direct result of the horrors. you learned everything about me at my worst and against my will so how do i get better again if youāre watching. thereās no one else in the world who understands a fraction of what you know of me. i see your wounds beneath your shirt. you know how i scream. your face is in all of my nightmares. if anyone tried to take you from me i would be undone. no notes !
i think one of my all time faves when it comes to whump scenarios is when whumpee has to pull themself out of the wreckage of what whumper did to them, they save themself, however means necessary (possibly by killing whumper, running away, who knows.) and when they're back, they try to be normal, try to get back to how things were like before, but they can't, and after a while everyone around them starts to see them crack.
