Before everything, Whumpee used to enjoy sleeping. Now they find themselves unable to. It's fine, physically Whumpee doesn't even need to sleep. But they miss it.

you've heard about whumpee for whom cigarette smoke is a trigger get ready for whumpee for whom cigarette smoke is a comfort. caretaker smokes. and caretaker is the nicest person they know.
Caretaker is standing outside smoking when Whumper screeches up to the curb and dumps Whumpee into the bushes.
Whumpees first experience with genuine care and compassion is being wrapped in Caretakers jacket, the smell of cigarette smoke and drug store perfume baked into it.
Thatâs how they were rushed to the hospital, and thatâs how they woke up, hours later, wrapped in a kind strangers jacket with said stranger pacing just outside in the waiting room.
The smell of cigarette smoke is forever imbedded in their mind as their first taste of freedom, of gentleness, of kindness, of humanity.

Whumpee freezes up when Whumper starts to assault them. They canât move. They canât make a sound. Eventually, they manage to choke out âyouâre *raping* me,â some part of them thinking that maybe Whumper just doesnât realize they donât want this, that maybe if Whumpee hadnât frozen up and just said no this wouldnât be happening
And Whumper moans and increases their pace. âSay that againâ
ugh god yeah that combines two things that hit real hard in this sort of scene imo which is on one hand the denial/internal victim blaming of âthis is my fault because this wouldnât be happening if i made it clearer how much this is hurting and violating me.â they think surely whumper wouldnât be raping them if they understood it was rape. (it whumpee made it clear enough. their terror isnât enough, the fact that whumper never asked and just took isnât enough. maybe they just donât know. surely if they knew it wouldnât happen.)
and then whumper where the power of it all is clearly the biggest and most direct motivator. they want whumpee to know theyâre being raped. they donât want to manipulate or coerce - they want to rape whumpee. they want to be reminded of the violence theyâre committing as theyâre committing it. whumpeeâs desperate attempt to make it stop has the opposite effect.

Whumpee who seems an alright, well-adjusted type of person, nothing clearly hidden about them, until one day they just disappear. Only then their friends, trying to find them, start digging into whumpee's past.
And oh, the things they find.
I love it when Whumper openly admits that Whumpee doesnât deserve whatâs being done to them, but keeps hurting them anyway. Thereâs just something about being simultaneously self-aware and ruthless that interests me.
Like, you expect the perpetrator to have some kind of guilt or internal conflict, but they just go on like usual. Like hurting Whumpee is as natural as brushing one's teeth.
