Now, my standards are still low for Filipino horror movies because it just started to get better (again) in the recent years. But I was excited about this movie because the plot is interesting, a woman was imprisoned because she was possessed by an evil entity, and the venue of the exorcism was unusual because it’s usually in the bedroom of the possessed, like in The Exorcist.Â
Speaking of, I think that the director or the writers of this movie has watched The Exorcist and The Exorcism of Emily Rose because there were some scenes that seemed very similar to what happened in both movies. I won’t say which scenes, I think if you have seen both movies and then watch Clarita, you’ll see it.Â
Overall, I think it was a good attempt at making an exorcism movie because you see doubt in the faith of the priests, and you sort of see them fighting back and let go of their own issues in order to further strengthen their faith in God.Â

I absolutely love Zombie movies because they are so thrilling to watch, and I am a fan of Train to Busan and Kingdom, so when I heard about this film I got excited to watch.Â
Good points of this movie:Â
What I liked about this movie is that it utilized the skills of the two main protagonists: Jun-u (gamer boy) and Yoo-bin (hiker girl). For Jun-u, he was able to use his skills with technology. Being a gamer, he was able to think about how he could use the radio function on his phone using the earphone jack, and he used the drone to see what was happening outside. As for Yoo-bin, she had survival skills, she knew how to ration her food, she knew how to make traps to kill the “zombies”, and she knew how to work with ropes.Â
Another thing that I liked from this movie was how minimal the dialogues were, and it just shows you how you can still tell stories without much of it. You can see them both running out of water, and waiting for the rain to come so they could collect it. The first parts of the movie definitely brought back memories from the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was hauntingly similar without the flesh eating zombies, of course.
Bad points of this movie:
I think there was a subtle hint at the start of the movie about how the infection started from dirt in the air based on the news reports, which I thought would be elaborated on (I thought it would be the kind of virus that’s from some kind of mold like in The Last of Us), but they didn’t really explain much about it.
I also think that the zombies were too smart. How come there was one that could climb a rope, or one that could open door knobs? I hoped that this too was elaborated on, but maybe a sequel is coming up.Â

Overall, I think this movie is worth watching. It definitely makes you care about the characters, and even though there were a lot of things they could have improved on, a Zombie movie is still fun to watch.Â

My Review:
I don't usually watch local TV shows because the plot usually doesn't catch my attention. But when I saw the trailer for this while I was watching the news, I was intrigued. Movies like Heneral Luna (2015), Goyo (2018) , Buy Bust (2018) , and Eerie (2018) impressed me so much, so I had high hopes for this one because the plot looked unique.Â
Of  course, the “mysterious occult” is not new, because the Westerners have done this before, but I don’t think we’ve ever done anything like this before.Â
And it definitely paid off! My only complaint about this show was that each episode only had about 25-27 minutes, and the whole season only had 6 episodes. That's just a 3-hour movie! But I think if they made it longer, they’ll lose the mystery because the story is enough to catch your attention, but doesn’t give too much that it’s predictable. So maybe this was done on purpose, and maybe I’m complaining because I just want more of this. It’s worth watching.
The start was pretty creepy and forked up and even though there’s drama, it's not the main focus of the story. I also like the subtlety of the details and the music score. The thing that I loved the most about this show is the opening. I love their choice of music, the way they introduced the cast--everything. And there were parts that were funny, but it didn’t seem forced as well, it seemed natural.Â
Speaking of the cast, I was surprised that Sam Milby was a part of it because I haven’t seen him in any new movies, and he really impressed me. It was a different side of Sam Milby. I have also never heard of Yassi Pressman before until I watched this show, and I just have to say that she looks like the Filipino Emilia Clarke, and she was also pretty amazing, there was a scene with some action, and she really pulled it off.Â
Overall, I think this show is worth watching, and I’m excited to see more of it and see how the story progresses.Â

This is my first attempt at a review of TV Shows that I’ve watched. I know it’s not really an original idea to give reviews, but it’s just a practice for me to form my own opinions about things. It’s up to you if you will take my word for it.Â

My Review:Â
If you like the movie Train to Busan (2016), or just zombies in general, then I think you should give Kingdom a shot.
Season 1 was very good story-wise because it was able to introduce the setting, while not being too predictable about the plot. On the other hand, the story in season 2, for me kind of introduced a loop hole (that’s all I will say!) which made it more fantastical than horror/thriller. That’s not a bad thing though! I didn’t really have a problem with it, it’s honestly an interesting take. And it worked.Â
The characters were also pretty intriguing. They didn’t really reveal much about the backstory of the characters, but I hope that in the future, they can reveal all of their backstories. It’s also good that it doesn’t seem to just focus on one character, but on all of the main characters. It’s hard to add humor to such a serious story, but somehow they were able to make it work as well. And it’s also not the kind of humor added to relieve tension, it was very natural.Â
Overall, this show is worth watching. I think that it has so much potential, and I hope that Season 3 will be as good or better than its predecessors.Â
