Shadows Tranquil Hiraeth ~Still lost for words while standing in the wind~
On October 25th after what felt like a lifetime of writing and recording. We finally released our debut LP simply entitled Wander. The track I’m posting here today is the final track on the album entitled “Hiraeth” which is a welsh word that means “A longing or homesickness for a place you cannot return to or never existed” which hit some very resonant tones with me. Surreal to think it’s been a year since we released it today. It still all feels fresh, mostly because mostly nobody’s still really listened to it much yet.. Anyways, Wander is meant to be something wholly earthly and simultaneously intangible.
Something that is meant to so purely and intensely evoke the boundless chaos, confusion, loneliness and pain of childhood as well as life beyond it. The way childhood innocence seems to fight to linger long after been taken away, sometimes taken by force.
The triumphant bliss of remembering how to love, trust and find comfort in spite of everything that has wounded us. Losing yourself in a moment you took for granted at the time but then long for a lifetime to return to.
Finding a way to celebrate those who pass beyond our reach in life as well as in quietus... And finally for me to sing the eternal longing wish to simply disappear and be forever lost amidst in the soothing winds of the golden death of the world.🍁🌻🍂
It’s been an unbelievably uphill battle to get this album out to people with an incredibly tight budget for advertising this year and algorithms filtering out virtually every fucking post the band makes if we don’t fork out cash. So if this post or music touches you and piques your interest; PLEASE give it a like, reblog, buy the album or a t-shirt from our bandcamp if you’re so inclined. Canigou Touch of a Feather ~Dance of the lonely beasts~
Today Im back to you with a verrry verrry backlogged post but I still want to get it out there so Im going to share a project I came across months back. Here is the song i was initially captivated by entitled “Touch of a feather” and the progressions the group has taken since this brilliant piece. Canigou hails from Sweden and refers to themselves as a “Tiny orchestra” which is an apt description in the sense of that when listening it really is impossible to tell who all is playing what instrument and how many members there are from the sound(for the record there are two). Anyway the two have released a substantial amount of music since the release of this beautiful track and it all is truly beautiful. Im just the stubborn guy that posts what he wants ;)
The band has since taken a much more ethereal electronic ambient turn which really is truly gorgeous and deserves just as much attention as the 4 year old song Im posting today. Here’s a choice highlight cut from their 6 month old release called the Manifest EP.
If you dig what you hear I implore you to go check out more releases, purchase them and support truly ecstatic art
Cold Veins Spruce Tree
~Enchantingly Cloudy~
Damn it feels good to be back. <3 Here is a stunning little trip hop cut from Cold Veins Cold Veins is a duo from Norway, they make some blissfully moody trip-hop/hip-hop with some bluesy elements. I started this write up before I perused their whole catalog but when I did I was astonished to see that there wasn't a plethora to choose from as it SOUNDS at least like they have several albums under their belt. Currently the act only has 3 tracks available on their soundcloud and those are about a year or two old but my do they sound professional as hell. Beautiful little rainy cuts flowering with sparse electronics and beats that knock in the best way. You dont get to hear sultry but inspired male singing vocals in this sound very often and they certainly did them quite well. Cold Veins is without a doubt a treat for anyone who’s a fan of the genre.
Give em a listen and show them some love so they feel compelled to keep putting out material. In a world where 90% of us musical artists arent making any money and doing it solely for the love of the art sometimes all it takes is a little support to fuel someones creative fire again for a while. Here’s one more track for ya.
Is anybody still out there?
Whats up music blog followers, Im making the decision of whether to revive this music blog here or on another platform since Tumblr has royally fucked up with the censorship thing. Im trying to gauge who all is still active on here so if you follow me, like this post please<3 Also if you have suggestions for other blog platforms please let me know
ALBUM PREMIERE: Shadows Tranquil - Wander ~Starry eyes in perpetual autumn~
A little over a week ago our band Shadows Tranquil released our debut full length album Wander. The album takes the noisy guitar driven texture and gently bittersweet melodies of shoegaze and blends them with more dynamic genre styles with vary throughout the record. Shadows Tranquil’s atmospheric sound comes from guitar tunings unique to the band which are coupled with ritualistic visuals/performance art live by close friends of the band.
The band’s lyrical content is shrouded in cryptic imagery however our lyrics are still printed for people to decipher at their own enjoyment so the songs can take on personal meaning to the listener as all musical connections rightfully should. The album was written, recorded and mixed entirely at home in Denver Colorado and mastered in Chicago by the incredibly talented producer/multi-instrumentalist Angel Marcloid (Fire-Toolz, Mindspring Memories, Pregnant Spore) a longtime friend and musical hero of mine. Here’s one more Shadows track to preview entitled “Crescent Lurid”
If you liked what you heard and want to check out more; the album is available for purchase on our bandcamp and we should have CDs and at some point vinyl available down the line. Word’s cannot express the amount of effort we put into this record so if you dig it please share it with your friends and help Shadows Tranquil get our name out there as we are putting this album out without a record label. Hopefully we’ll be seeing you again live sooner than later.

apache plaza プラザ m a c k | i s | b a c k ~you have pre-qualified for a new you~
Late night post for a rad little vapor project I stumbled across. Couldnt find a single speck of info on apache plaza プラザ but regardless of that, I thought it was worth a little write up in the wee hours.
Funky, dancy little vapor tracks only a few months old but showcasing a lot of interesting technique resulting in a lot more sonic movement than a lot of vapor artists. The first track is showcasing one of my favorite 90s r&b pop jams ever “Return of the mack” by Mark Morrison that seemingly does some actual justice to the original without stepping on its toes. The second track entitled “k e e p / / l o o k i n g” focuses instead on a Sade cut which name escapes me, again though doing justice to the source material without tarnishing it’s original value. Here’s that track below. Give alpha plaza a follow on soundcloud and make it known that you want to hear more.
