hi! i’m alex. i’m 23 and not new to the hamilton fandom. i was around in the golden age of 2015-2020 before i fell out of it, but unfortunately my autism has kept me from ever fully leaving.

i’m your one-stop-shop for all things hamilton facts. i know 90% of everything about the man and the musical. feel free to drop an ask with any questions you have! i hate the man and will gladly expose his deepest darkest secrets to the realms of tumblr.

if you haven’t noticed, i have a favorite hamilton child. i don’t know as much about him as i do about his father, but just know that he’s my favorite.

also, i’m a factkin of alexander hamilton and a fictkin of alexander hamilton jr. (plus the occasional introject.) mediamates feel free to int but please don’t flirt with me unless i’ve said otherwise! (other hamilkids int right now i miss you guys)

I've seen people ship Eliza and Maria as a way to make a statement like "Neither of them needed hamilton!" or "You're going to cheat on your wife? Well, screw you *ships your wife with your mistress*" and I feel like. It is fine to ship literally anything, to start, I am so for shipping anything for literally 0 reason. Ship John Laurens with the fucking wizards of waverly place dad for all I care, I literally am all for it. but if the *goal* is to make some sort of statement? I don't know. I don't see how shipping them is any more progressive or feminist than shipping other characters.

We've kind of all got to accept that there's going to be a bit of inherent disrespect to shipping characters based on real historical figures, so I don't see why we gotta pretend like one ship is morally superior? if anything, I feel like the real historical figures might find it more disrespectful to ship a woman with her husband's affair partner than to ship other things lmao. again, I couldn't care less about the 'inherent disrespect' that they were real people; they're dead, and were public figures anyway, but that also means I don't see a need to make moral judgements of ships. This is something I've actually seen by the way, people explicitly saying they ship eliza/maria just for the principal of it.

In summary: I don't even dislike this ship, but I don't get seeing yourself as morally superior for shipping it (or anything. shipping isn't, like, activism?)

I don’t ship washette personally, and whamilton has never appealed to me in anything other than an AU. yet, I don’t personally air my disgust for those ships directly to people who enjoy them

you don’t have to like those ships (like I said— I don’t.) hell, you can even dislike them. but, keep the hate to DMs and GCs with your friends
