Reblog if you stand against order, civilization, and goodness itself
goes hard ngl
Consider:
After nearly a decade without a new grocery store in Detroit, Raphael Wright opened the city’s only Black-owned grocery store in 2023 to bring fresh, healthy food options back to underserved neighborhoods.
The 34-year-old farmer and entrepreneur from the Jefferson-Chalmers area spent six years converting a former liquor store at 500 Manistique Street into Neighborhood Grocery. Community members helped select the products and saw their names featured in the store’s design.
Raphael Wright shared what motivated him. “I’m from the neighborhoods I work in, and I want to make them better. They were good at one point, and I want to bring back that glory.”
His store stands as more than a place to shop. It represents a step toward healthier families and renewed pride in the community he calls home.
I can't believe the little goth house hasn't sold yet. It's been removed from the market again. The 1940 Cape Cod cottage in Baltimore, MD has 1bd, 1ba, 1,540sqft. Asking $295k. The broker told the owner to neutralize the decor a little, b/c it would scare some buyers, so he removed about 25 mannequins in the basement and some upstairs. I beg to differ. I would've liked to have seen them.
Putting you to use….
The thought of being the center of attention like this with so many interested and eager men both excites and scares me! It’s important to do things that scare you though, right?
I didn't bake anything in time this year, but tomorrow we'll celebrate Beltane with foraging, baking, and crafts! I'll show you that, too. Tell me your local springtime folk traditions!
